just venting ove my Chem grade...

Published

So, Just finished my Chem101 class. Ugh! It was by far the hardest class I've taken thus far. I did pass, with a "C" but not so happy about the grade. It has really dropped my GPA, I know I can bring that GPA up by doing well in my other classes but currently it is down (still above 3.0) and i don't like it. I guess I will be kicking butt to get it back up. Sorry for wasting your time, just needed to vent... :-(

Just know who is the most electronegative and your good to go!

AKA:

e- just like to hang with other e-, their clique like that!

so when you have say, Cl or I having e- parties, the e- from metals wants to party too.

just remember the "halogen/organic molecule" corner is the most electronegative!

think of h20

that is a polar-covalent bond, meaning unequal sharing. Normally people don't get this part.

if you look at a periodic table and look at hydrogen and look at oxygen where do you think the e- are gonna wanna party with? hydrogen or oxygen?

that is a big help. as I said know who is more electronegative and you'll know where the electrons want to go (also knowing what is a metal vs non metal is good too, that helps determine what kind of bond its going on)

i have taken inorganic and physical chemistry, all i have now to take is o-chem so if anyone wants any chem tips just pm me!

Thanks for the responses. I know "C" isn't the best grade but atleast I passed. I worked very hard, studied lots but came out knowing more then I ever did before I took chemistry, in which I am thankful!

All you can do is your best. No one (

i received a c+ last spring semester and i was so thrilled i will NEVER have to take it again...there were people who received c's as well who opted to take it over....not this ol gal...i know thats probably an attitude not to have..

OP,

I took Chem101 at a community college last summer. For 90 percent of the class, it was pure hell. Over 70 percent of the class got below a C, and some people even consistently failed exams. I hated the class, but managed to get a B. :/

As someone else said, it is better to have it behind you than to have never have taken it or flunk the class.

oh man chem. ugh i hate chem. the first semester, I got a C- and barely passed. it was horrible and i was so upset about it. i also had a horrible professor. second semester i switched professors and i wound up getting a B+. chem is a really hard subject sometimes you just need some one who can really explain it well. don't trip a C isn't too bad for chemistry :)
