Just took RN NCLEX

I was confident, I told myself I was going to pass, I have studied, I have worked as an LPN in a hospital for the past year......I drew a complete blank at the test sight. I'm pretty darn sure I failed. I could not remember how to do calculations. I feel like a complete dumba@@!! All but one of my calculations were mg/kg/min questions. I think I got myself too flustered over these questions and it went downhill from there. Does anyone know the percentage of people who got the minimum and failed??? I need some words of encouragement here!! :bluecry1:

I Passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Found Out This Morning!!!!! Wow I Cnt Believe It!!!! Thank You God!!!!!! It Is Doable People Just Pray And Go In With Confidence...as You Can See The Kaplan Scores You Get Dnt Really Matter Because I Didnt Average That 65% They Look For...but I Passed!!!! And It Doesnt Matter How Many Select All The Apply You Get, I Only Got 4 Out Of 180 Questions!!!!!! Im So Relieved!!!!!!!

One thing is for sure - I would never recommend becoming a nurse. The entire process has been hell.

I'm 39 and I've already told my kids that under no circumstance do I ever want to hear them say they want to become a nurse. I can tell you why there's a nursing shortage ...

I totally agree! I know that the NCLEX-RN should be difficult, because you're dealing with people's lives, but I don't think they should make it so difficult that hardly anyone can pass!!! If the process was just a little easier, maybe there wouldn't be such a nursing shortage.

Well, there are many ways to define difficult. I am not so sure I'd say to lower the standards...what I would challenge is some of the nursing school processes, getting rid of bad teachers in a timely manner, preparing students more for the big picture Hesi and for the nclex - less guessing on how to prepare for it. There are some money-makers out there and for every person who says "I didn't do a program, just studied" there are other people who paid for programs.

Hesi at least has a book they "own" that you buy specific to the test. I don't see that with Hesi. Pearson is affiliated with nclex so that's the closest I can see - but therein lies some of the guessing game.

Oh well.

I think one of the biggest changes should be that you get your results instantly!! I also feel kind of jipped that I didn't get my full money's worth. LOL My test was $343 so by answering 75 questions that makes each questions worth $4.57. Whereas, if I had answered all 265 it would be $1.29 a question. Can you tell I'm a bargain shopper?? LOL Good luck to everyone!!

How were you able to find out so fast???? I think I have to wait until tomorrow at the earliest. What state do you live in??

Iowa I care--Im located in Florida...I took my test on july 22 @ 2p and found out july 23 @ 10am that i passed, i have no idea how my results got posted so fast, i didnt pay anything extra...I honestly didnt expect to see my results until 48hrs....but thank God it was up, im sooo relieved, i can concentrate now!!! i believe it depends on your state how fast you get your result...i really dnt know. Sorry i know the wait is torture. im sure u passed!!!!!:D

Well this is for venting so I'm not gonna comment directly but nursing is a profession that u really really have to be a professional in......the nursing school, the hard exam all of it makes u a competent nurse.....I have suffered throughout this process. Well nursing school was a breeze with the occasional setback of not studying but overall it was a breeze, now the nclex is in a class of its own but after five times sitting for the most grueling test of my life ( so far ) I still feel like nursing is for me. I still feel like this is my passion and it is the most rewarding self fulfilling profession u could choose not to mention the thousands or even millions of lives you can touch. I know this may sound corney or whatever but its so the truth....I still didn't get my results for the test but I am very confident this time around....faith moves montains....I will keep you all posted
