Hello Kjcboys,
I took my NCLEXPN in September my states minimum number of questions is 85 and that is where mine shut off at. I passed, but I heard that the average is 87 - 110 and those are for those who pass. So chin up, think positive and go online to your state board of nursing web site and see if your results or licensce is posted yet. I took mine on a Thursday and my licsence to my surprise was online the next day. Good luck and keep me posted !!:balloons:
Unfortunately, I live in California and am waiting restlessly to take the NCLEX. Due to the budget cuts in this state, I will continue to wait to take boards.
One of the LVNs at a sub-acute facility where I performed a clinical rotation was telling me that she passed on her first attempt. The computer cut her off after approximately 87 questions had been answered.
One of my instructors, an RN with an A.S.N. degree, took the NCLEX a few years ago and it cut him off after the 85th question. He passed on his very first attempt. I wouldn't worry tirelessly unless it cuts off before you reach 85 questions. Every person who has taken it has failed outright if it cuts off at 82 questions or at any point before 85 questions are answered.
