Just took the NCLEX..and....

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Yep... just got back from taking the NCLEX. I got 75 questions and was out of there in 52 minutes.

I had 9 SATA

about 4 OB

about 5 psych

questions about child abuse

handful of infection control and priority.

Yeah. the computer went blue at 75.

I knew only 5 questions I answered. I really didn't use the decision tree from kaplan much because it was so impossible to apply. I couldn't use Maslows a lot either.

I did the PVT and got "The candidate currently has an open registration for this exam. A new registration cannot be created at this time."

So I have to wait...but I'm not sure what to expect...

Thank you all so very much! And a special thank you to fmAtoZ that is so sweet of you! I am so happy for it to be over!

Really....so how did you narrow down the answers if the decision tree and ABC's doesn't work.

Tracie. honestly.. I did the tutorial and one of the questions is like "Which of these are fruits" and I just stared at the words elephant and cow. My mind just went blank. The first question came up, I had no clue what to even do. All of the answers I got were either ALL assessments or ALL implements, then I get to Maslows and I'm like ummmmm nothing's sticking out here....then ABC which nothing applied. So I just clicked an answer and moved on that seemed to mak the most sense. I got to question 34 and I was like I don't know what the hell I'm doing. Nothing makes sense I feel like this is in Japanese. So I felt like I just started responded by instinct. Don't get me wrong there were a few questions that I could apply it too... but honestly, I think I was too anxious and worked up that I couldn't think of how to apply any of the decision trees, maslows, or ABCs. It all seemed gibberish.

Just read over infection control, get that memorized.

There were answers I felt confident with my choices, 5 that I knew for sure, and then others that I was like whatever, this is the most stupidest thing I have ever done and I want to go home. It was pretty bad. I left and I honeslty swear up and down, I knew nothing. Some things I have never even heard of, weird medications questions. Only like 3 or 4 though. It really is just a guessing game it seems like because there were questions that I had difficulty with narrowing down... I am just glad it's over, yet kinda mad because it seems like there's no way in preparing for this, haha... BUTTTTTTTT I can say, Kaplan did help. The NCLEX had weird quetions like NCLEX but the SATA were wayyyy easier.. Like recognition of child abuse, and about how to talk to a sexually abused patient.. Nothing too out of whack... WE SHALL SEE THOUGH

I tried to send you a PM, but you box it too full!

This post is a year OLD ..I don't think he would check this thread..
