Just took NCLEX - RN today!

Whew.

I got 75 questions.

Mostly prioritization as so many have been saying. Tons of "who would you see first, who would you call first, what would you address first?" A few infection control, and oddly, not one single staff delegation question, as in "which patient would you assign to the LVN/CNA." I got a handful of pharm and a handful of odd, mixed questions that were kind of random and covered many areas.

I got one med calc, though a fairly tough multi-step one. (I wonder if I got it right if they only gave me one?)

I had about 4 or five "select all that apply."

MY GOD, I HATE "SELECT ALL THAT APPLY." :scrying:

I am not sure how I feel - I guess, like everyone else, I'm scared I screwed up somewhere and failed.

Good luck to everyone else preparing.

My advice: Focus on test-taking strategy, answer a lot of questions, for practice, and read the questions slowly, and look at all the words. There ARE clues in the questions.

Thanks to everyone who showed support and gave advice to me as I prepared for this.

Now to await the results.

I hope you get the great news soon that you are anticipating! 75 questions is nice...well, I mean, it's nicer than having to do 265 questions! I just passed mine on the 18th with 106 questions. I was sooo tired by the time it was over.

I hear what you're saying about the select all that apply questions. I mean those are just waiting for you to mess up. I see those questions as high risk questions because it's not a 25% chance of getting it right like the A,B,C,D questions. I had one of those (don't remember what it was on) but I remember thinking something not very nice.

Oh well...best wishes! Let us all know how you did!

Thanks for the well wishes, abundantjoy!

75 questions was nice, but I keep thinking "did I fail that fast?!?!" Ya know, post test jitters.

I got a handful of the select all that apply, and they were rough. I hope I got at least ONE of them right.

Congratulations on passing!

Congratulations to you in advance. I am sure you passed...

I am taking mine in 2 days...scared and feel that I don't know enough.

wow it seems like a lot of us are getting similar types of questions 'cause i had a ton of those select all that apply, no other sort of alternative format. I hate those things! well, good luck with the results!

You'll be fine, Vektor! Sounds like you were well prepared to take the exam, even if you felt you weren't!

Let us know when you find out...fingers are crossed for you!

Thanks all, for your kind wishes. Congrats to those of you who have passed, and good luck to those still waiting.

I am hearing an overwhelming amount of feedback about the recent NCLEX test plan, and yes, it seems like there are a heck of a lot of those "select all that apply" and the prioritization ones. Some of them may be pilots?

If so, I hope all my "select all's" were pilots, because I stink at those, I think.

I'm glad it's over, and I pray it's for good...I just want to start my career!

i can understand the wanting to start your career. i have orientation scheduled already and i just took the exam today. I hate to think about having to make the phone call saying "um im sorry but i didnt pass and need to delay my start date" :sniff:

My best wishes to you, packerfan18! I had a job offer before I took the test too, and cannot take the job without a license. I found out on Saturday that I passed, so that's a huge relief.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you too!
