Just took my NCLEX-PN today

Published

So I faced the beast today. I would like to hope I won but my nerves are still a complete wreck. The computer shut off after I answered question 85. I was there a little over an hour. Most of my classmates have also gotten 85 with shut off and all have passed so I'm trying to keep my mind at ease with that. Is it possible to fail at 85? Wouldn't they give you more questions up to 205 to give you a chance? That's still 120 questions to prove yourself right? Its only been 10 hours, another 36 is going to drive me crazy!!!!!!

Yes, it's still possible to fail at 85. However, only you know how you feel about the answers you selected.

When I took the NCLEX-PN, it wasn't even referred to as the NCLEX; we called it 'our boards', and it was on paper, mandatory breaks, and each tested area handed out and collected at specified time by the overseers.

But I did take the NCLEX-RN only 6 years ago, and walked out of Pearson Vue with a feeling of excitement and tearful joy after having answered only 75 questions. You see, when I took it, na'ive little me, I didn't realize one could fail at the minimum.

Fortunately, I did...but I felt the questions I received were like a de'ja vue exam which originated from my nursing school. It was so easy that I felt as though I had cheated on the exam.

A couple of hours after I got home, the excitement wore off (I had already done the whole PVT/good pop-up thing), and fear started to set in. There was no way that notoriously-dreaded exam could have been that easy; and Pearson Vue was going to use me to set an example!

So, I waited impatiently for the quick results, practically with me finger on the PVT speed dial the whole time. The results never changed!

if any of this sounds familiar, try to relax and enjoy your success! Otherwise, at least try to relax because the worst really is over. Good luck!
