I took the NCLEX-PN last saturday. Although I've been warned that since April 2011, they have added more SATA type questions (select all that apply) I didnt expect to get 28 out of 85 as SATA questions.
I stopped at 85, I felt that I did very well considering that the computer made it hard for me to reach 85.
Is it true that if you're getting hard questions, means you're passing?
I tried the Pearson Vue trick of re-registering and It wont let me...
Anyways, it was hard cause of the question type but the test all in all wasnt as hard as I thought it would be.. wish me luck
EDIT:
BTW, most of the questions that I got was patient education for medications, mostly med-surg, I got 1-3 maternity and 1-5 peds. A lot of situational / prioritization. and 1-6 procedural questions (putting on a condom catheter, getting specimen out of a Foley cath-drainage bag). I can't remember the rest.
Surprisingly I also got a lot of herbal medications (garlic pills, ginseng, ginger and biloba)
For those who hasn't taken it yet.. Be confident, I was really anxious at first but I found the test challenging, not hard. It doesn't test you if you're smart/perfect,, it tests to make sure you're not going to be an unsafe nurse.
I finished saunders comprehensive (green book) and finished all 3000 questions of the yellow saunders book. I found them really helpful.

I just took mine Sat. in ATL, GA. Mine shut off right around 85 and I had LOTS of SATA questions! sometimes 4 or 5 in a roll! Questions got very vague towards the end! No med calculations and lots of prioritization. 1 drag and drop, 2 exhibit q's. Mostly SATA!!!!!!

congrats! thanks for sharing your experience now those of us who will be testing soon have an idea of what to expect :)
NP. Goodluck, be confident and you'll be good. After the first question, try to breath in and out a few times and relax. Focus and don't be afraid to take breaks.

Kaplan said that the test starts out with a relatively easy question. Lies! Lol. To me, the test started hard & STAYED hard! But, it's over now for you so that's what matters lol ! Congrats!!!
It did start relatively easy... if you keep on getting right answers, it gets progressively hard (sign of passing), if it's getting progressively easy that means youre getting the answers wrong and its adjusting the questions for you.
If you see a lot of SATA, thats a good sign that you're passing... if you started hard then it seems like its getting easier, and it could mean that you're failing. Well, thats what my med-surg instructor said (he also writes questions for NCLEX).

Thanks for the advice. I am waiting on my ATT letter. The school just sent verification today. So now i am waiting on the board of nursing to do their part. I am anxious. I have been doing a review called NCSBN PN students. I do have the saunders book so I will do a few questions from there also.. Been answering about 100-200 questions a day.. Do you think that is enough? I will put more empasis on SATA questions.. We took a lot of ATI tests and they say that if you do pretty good on those its its a pretty good indicator if you will pass the NCLEX. Esp the comprehensive one's..
