  1. It was hard!!!! Sent out resume after resume, told everyone I knew, stalked employers who had a position available! For real I called them weekly! It's a tough hunt lots going for the same job as you who have experience! I eventually changed my resume from the cookie cutter new grad. version and added where I obtained experience during clinicals and procedures I had performed in bold to the cover of my resume. Clinical hours do not count as experience but I needed it to be noted that I had 750 hours of clinical time and had worked in various healthcare settings even though it was for free I was still there! Treat it like its a full time job and if apps are only online try to figure out a way to show your face in person! Good luck it will happen you just got to get that one year in!
  2. Am just curious... I would love to know honest opinions concerning the roles of the Lpn vs the Rn. I know it varies state to state but I love to hear what you all think the difference is concerning the scope of practice and respect of each one.
  3. I am a new grad and I feel ya! I have had 3 interviews and hopeing the 3rd times the charm! I just depsperatly changed the cover letter of my resume and I have had a lot more call backs since. I listed in bold the places and areas i've worked in clinicals and bolded the procedures i have done. I also listed how many clinical hours... 750 hours at my college. So we shall see. Since this change I have gotten several emails saying my qualifications match the jobs and they are reviewing my application. Fingers crossed. I just figured they were getting many of the picture perfect new grad resumes and thought mine needed to stand out as much as possible.
  4. Maybe a way to avoid retirement benefits
  5. What state are you in??? I'm a new grad in GA.
  6. well... you are blessed!!! You need to decide which one will not interfere with school and your family! Since u are starting the RN program it would be pointless to take the job that would make the RN program be a waste of time (not being able to study or pass). 3-11 would be aweful once your 4 yr old starts school! :-)
  7. Worked for me and a friend... on a saturday... minutes after exam!
  8. Ok so I interviewed at a Dr's office last friday and as soon as I got home they called me back for a 2nd interview with the Dr for that afternoon. I am still figuring out how to be great at the ibterview process and failed to ask when I should follow up. I called on Tuesday and got the OM voicemail. I left a message stating that i was following up etc... So now do I just wait and hope?
  9. It says its not graded per question time...time only affects you if you run out of time.
  10. I had to reg. with pearson vue b4 I reg. with board.
  11. I just took mine Sat. in ATL, GA. Mine shut off right around 85 and I had LOTS of SATA questions! sometimes 4 or 5 in a roll! Questions got very vague towards the end! No med calculations and lots of prioritization. 1 drag and drop, 2 exhibit q's. Mostly SATA!!!!!!
