Just took Nclex (PearVueTrick)

Published

I just took the Nclex this morning at 8am computer shut off at 76 questions. I walked out of the room feeling like i didnt know anything. Came home logged on pearson vue and it stated result not available, so i went ahead and used a debit card with no money on it and it says Card Declined Please Contact....I am very nervous, starting even get sick from it.

Now my question is what does that mean? Did i try the trick too early? Or Do i have to wait for the full 24h then do the trick.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

No, if the card has insufficent funds, if you pass you will still get the good pop up:(

Like the post said before as long as there is nothing on hold the "trick" is pretty much 100% accurate immediately after the test.

@RNsRWe

There is no need to be "smart" with your comments/reply while your advice and input is greatly appreciated it was uncalled for.

I am confused as to why people say that it is scored after the first 24 hours a 2nd time when there are many states that will post a license number the next day. For instance, I took the NCLEX yesterday morning and finished around 9am....I was listed on my BON at 8am this morning. That's less than 24 hours after I tested and I'm sure that my BON wouldn't do that without accurate result. In fact in my state (VA) when you pass you are able to check the next business day. With that thought in mind, telling someone you have to wait 24 hours just doesn't seem accurate to me in all cases. Btw, I did the PVT 4 times yesterday 20 minutes after testing, 2 hours later, 8 hours later, and again at midnight. The last two times I purposely put in the wrong security code for my card and despite that each time I got the same "passing" response.

Yeah, unless there is a hold, your license should be available on your BON website the next day (unless it is a friday). Yes, it is scored twice, but the PVT is pretty much 100% accurate as soon as you leave the testing site:)

Not always and definitely not 100% accurate. Quick results are accurate. And not all states post licenses so quickly. Some states take 4+ weeks post passing NCLEX.

You have to use a valid card with funds on it. I took my NCLEX-RN this morning as well. I used my credit card to do it in the parking lot of the testing center with my phone and it worked for me. So that was literally like 15 minutes after I took the test. I'm still super nervous though, hoping that it is accurate!

First, congrats, and welcome to the profession:) I don't understand the tone on here as well. In my experience, and almost a hundred other people i know and the probably hundred posts on here the trick is accurate as soon as you get to your car. Being a multiple time test taker, as soon as I got to my truck and did it the results were accurate. The last time I tested, not even five minutes after leaving the site I did the trick and I got the good pop up. Yes, nothing in life is ever perfect, but let's not stop people from doing this when it is a good indicator of a pass/fail.

Agreed, it does vary by state!!! In PA here your license is posted the next day. However, in California, I know it takes decades :)

I did this using a card I knew that had insufficent funds, you still should get the "good pop-up" if you pass :)

My apologies for the off-tone. It is the result of frustration, I suppose, at taking the time to answer individual questions, even general threads on the topic with well thought-out, well-written and well-explained details about exactly how the PVT works.....only to have someone read absolutely NOTHING and then come to a message board asking the identical question. And asking for someone to please please please explain it to them, they are freaking out, etc etc. And so it is explained again....and they are usually directed to the umpteen threads that are VERY easily visible and very accessible, very easily, if ONLY the people who want the information would take just two minutes to look.

When people use message boards, they ARE expected to know the very basics of how they work, and that they should read the messages that are right in front of them that answer the very things they are looking for, before posting an identical question. So that leads to some frustration from veteran members; I happened to be the one to answer this one.

I'm happy to help, honestly, and I'm always happy to see those who are appreciate of the time it took for that. But it does look more and more like "ME, ME, MY situation is different, please tell me again (even though I've not gone out of my way for one minute to find the answer)."

So.....my apologies for being a bit snarky at times. I hate to see people freaking out and making themselves miserable when they could be much calmer, IF ONLY they would just take those two minutes to help themselves, first.

Again RNsRWe, I'd like to thank you for your relentless perseverance in answering posts/threads about the PVT. Thank you so much; I've thanked you on another thread but I'd like to applaud you for always informing us. I know for a fact I'd most definitely freaked out if I haven't read your former posts about the PVT. For recent NCLEX takers like myself, please, please wait at least 24 hours have passed after you completed the test before you attempt the PVT. The NCLEX is scored twice and the PVT is as accurate is it ever will be after 24 hours. Have a great start to the new year's everyone!

And you're a perfect example of why I do this....so thank YOU :)

Someone had queried why we might discourage people from doing the PVT prior to 24 hours post-test completion when some State BoNs post their license info in only 21, 23 hours, etc.

The answer is very simply that the BoN DOES get the 100%, completely accurate finalized scores directly from Pearson Vue the moment the final scoring is done, and they are free to work with that info at that time. The person playing with the PVT, however, has NO IDEA when that second score is finalized, or if it occurs at hour 2, hour 10, or hour 23.5. And there is no doubt whatsoever that the second scoring, while USUALLY matching the first, has been shown many times to NOT match....and therefore the person playing with the PVT bemoans how "wrong it was in their case". And it wasn't "wrong"....it was done wrong.

Whenever there is a hold placed it also screws with the timing, but that's yet another fun variable for us to work with :)
