I am applying to ITT Tech September 2011 and I just took the Hesi entrance exam. I scored an 85% cumulative. Who else has taken the Hesi, and if so, what were your scores that got you into the program?

I'm taking it tomorrow...how was the test? Did you have to do the chemistry part? My school requires chemistry and its freaking me out!!

Specializes in Cardiology and ER Nursing.

97% cumulative over the entire thing. Only the math, and "English comprehension" parts counted and you needed a 75% or greater to "pass."

The chemistry part is pretty basic so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Things could have changed with it in the 2 years since I've taken the test however.

I took mine in Apr and it was a 91.41. I wasn't trying for ITT, though........

How was the test overall? Were there a lot of math conversion problems? Did you have to take the A&P section? I will be taking the test on July 7 and am studying round the clock for it!

I just took the test this past Saturday and the math was mostly conversions and ratios. Know your conversions (oz, lbs, kilos, quarts, gallons, etc). I took the A&P section and it would be hard for someone who did not take the course. Look over your A&P notes if you have taken the course and go over the first few chapters. A lot of muscle questions were on the A&P section.

I did not have to take the A&P. For the math you need to know your basics. Addition, subtraction, fractions. Also, study ratios and proportions (lots of ?'s on those), measurements, etc. There are a quite a few improper fractions questions. Reading was fairly easy. You can't really study for that section. Vocab SUCKED! I thought I knew the meanings of words, WRONG! That was the worst part of the test. The words were very hard. GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks a lot for everyone's help! I will be taking the test tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how I did if you're all interested :)

I had to take 5 sections Math, grammar, reading, Anatomy & Physiology, and Vocabulary. I made an 87.53 average. In order to be competitive to the program I want to get into I need at least a 93 average so I will try again in September.

Good luck everyone!!
