How are the classes? Will you be taking the classes or testing out with the nursing part?

The most challenging part right now is writing papers. I am currently taking dev. Psychology over an 8 week period, so lthere is a bit more work..but pther than that i love online learning because i dont have to go anywhere! I think i will do self study for the nursing classes...but i have not decided yet. I have 4 gen ed's left. I would love to be done by at least december 2016 but if not thats ok.

Specializes in EMT since 92, Paramedic since 97, RN and PHRN 2021.

I believe there is no Test out option for information literacy. Since it is a 1 credit course it shouldnt take too long or be too difficult. I too am just starting the Excelsior path. Have been a Medic for 18 years. I am going to try am be as methodical as possible. Study and take one test at a time. I dont plan on doing any classes through excelsior, just study and test. There are way too many study guides and options. The financial savings alone make it attractive.

I am doing the Life span developmental psychology first.\

If you do the test, let me know how you make out. ;)

What is the Information Literacy class like?

I will be taking it in the middle of October. They wont let me take it until the next term starts, which i dont understand why as it is completely all online and self-paced. From what i have gathered there are no direct contacts with the instructor. Its just as soon as you are done the chapter, taking the quiz, pass it, move to the next chapter and so on. As soon as you finish the chapters(again all online as there is no textbook for this class) you take the Final exam. Whatever grade you get on the Final exam is your grade for the class. And get this, the final exam is open book, open computer, open notes.

I guess we'll be taking it together then! If there's no book then how does the class work? Lol. Wow, that class sounds super easy! Can the nursing classes be like that class? Please! Haha!

I don't know, I just have a feeling they aren't.

Still waiting for my 3rd transcript to be sent. I would like to get started.

How did you study for and prepare for Contemporary Math if you don't mind me asking? I have to take this exam next month and am very nervous! I am ROTTEN in Math.

I just kept working the problems in the workbook and the study guide over and over. I am rotten at this kind of math too. There are no "medical math" questions per se, which I can handle; it's a lot of probability and statistical questions. Honestly, I was never happier to see a "C".

Hello Old Grey Nurse LPN

Thanks! I appreciate your suggestion. But what is this workbook and study guide you speak of? Is it something I can buy at Amazon?

Thanks!
