Just started excelsior!!

Hi all! I just started excelsior aug.24. I am doing my general education classes right now. I have 5 gen. Ed classes to take until i start my nursing classes. I havent decided yet if i will do the online nursing classes or self study. Is anyone else taking online classes with excelsior?

Yes just started too. I have 3 general classes, I passed one and two more to go. I am doing credit by exam. You have to be motivated to do this. I studied for two months for the first class, trying to cut it down to a month. We'll see

Oh ok cool well goos luck..which exam did you take first?

Sociology was the first exam, I am studying for microbiology now and then anatomy and physiology is the last general class

Started a few months ago...got derailed. Again. Third times's the charm, right??? I've taken A&P, Micro (because mine were too old), a Humanities credit (Music), and the Contemporary Math. (ugh). I am studying now for Transitions and Health Safety. In the general courses, I am looking to CLEP Life Span Psychology and Sociology Core. Next is College Writing, and I should be good to go after that with just the remainder of the nursing theory classes before FCCA and CPNE. I need to add, I am a little north of 40 going into this thing; started out a couple of times at a local comm. college but hey, I have bills, and, let's face it, trying to fit in a full time job, put a daughter through law school, support a husband through eight years of cancer treatments, and helping out a daughter in law while my son was deployed have all taken their toll on my time. Now, my daughter is an accomplished attorney, my son has successfully transitioned to civilian life, and while my husband and I are still fighting the cancer beast, my life now seems a little more....settled. Best of luck to us all!!

Well good luck to you...situations that come in our life make us stronger. I'd say you're doing pretty good jules!

I am near the end of my Excelsior College journey (I hope, I hope) as I am taking my CPNE next month. I loved the class structure very much and love that it was self taught (I get pretty intense classroom anxiety).

I just signed up. I'm retaking A&P & micro through NMJC then I will start my EC journey. I'm so excited!
