Just Gote Acceptance Letter!!!Need Advice Please!!!

Published

Hello all! I am new to this site and am currently completing my pre-req's. I just got my acceptance letter from a local ADN Program for the Spring 2005 semester. The only problem is that I applied not expecting to be accepted! A good friend of mine is also trying for Nursing school and we both suggested that we start in Fall 2005 so we can be in the same class. Should I go ahead and start in Spring 2005 or wait until Fall 2005? I am really confused and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me. my friend and I applied at the same time and had all of the great plans to study together work together ride together. I got in and she did not. I am in my early 30's two kids and husband. It was not a question of if i would wait. She was very upset that she did not get in but the competition is too much. This is your time, seize it. We all want someone familiar with us especially during something nerve racking as nursing school but you will meet some great people and find a friend. Your friend will start later and you will be able to give awesome advice.

Take the spot... Don't send in the application if you aren't ready to go... There are too many people who are ready... If your friend doesn't get in this time, that doesn't mean you should put your career on hold... If she is your friend she will truly understand and be happy for you.. Congrats.. :)

Oooh! Oooh! Send that letter to me! Do you think it's transferrable? I so want to get off of this waiting list.

Seriously, take that slot! You are so fortunate to have this opportunity, don't think for a minute about putting it off. If your friend gets upset, she'll get over it or she won't. In either case, you will

be a nursing student and based on her reaction, you will know what kind of person your friend is.

Congratulations. :balloons:

I agree ur friend maybe mad and say you left him/her high and dry but just lie and say you just did it so you can help her in the fall and you were tired of thinking how long it would take for you to be a nurse

Definitely go for it. A real friend will understand and be happy for you, even if she is a little disappointed for herself.(I hope it works out that way.)

One of the unexpected side-effects of nursing school, I've found, is that you quickly make a lot of new friends. My program generally isn't competitive, once you get in--we can all make A's or we can all make F's, so one student doing well doesn't hurt someone else. That and the fact that it is so intense seems to help bring everyone together.

A good friend of mine is very shy in groups of strangers, and even apart from the fact that she will make an awesome nurse, I am so excited that she is starting down the same road. She is bound to meet a number of people she likes, and probably a few she loves. I certainly hope you do, too.
