Just got done with nclex..rn...

Published

K so i graduated on may first week..n then took a good weeks vacation so i could gear up for the bad boy nclex!! N then i started reading seriously from end of may..n took the exam today..

The million dollar question...how was it? Well i felt that it was more of anxiety that makes it difficult..i needed a break after first 20 questions..yeah..n its OK to take a break cos it helped me..do NOT push yourself cos besides your knowledge, your performance depends on you staying CALM..

Let me break down my test experience..stopped studying a day before the test..i went out shopping and watched movies...and did everything i could to take my mind off the exam..got a good night sleep and then got to the test centre early..just so the traffic might get bad or whatever who knows...then yeah finger printing..palm printing and all that.. I kept saying one thing to myself over and over and over . GOD IS WITH ME ..I AM GONNA BE FINE....the first question..n i am thinking...hmmmm ok what now?? What is this? Oh wait..i need to calm down...then went on slow and steadily reading word by word!!! Then i took a break like i said after 20 qs and then sat back down again..thinking..ok i am gonna do this till 75 then take another break..when i got to 75 i think computer asked me if i wanted to take a break..i hit no i dont know why..but yeah when i got to the 76 it cutt me off n the screen went blue..did the survey..came out shaking like a leaf...drove home..( cried all the way) got home..took a deep breath n did tge pearson vue trick and got a GOOD POP UP!!! Crossing my fingers and praying to the official results...

Will let you all know about the official result..till then praying...

You're done :) I'm taking mine tomorrow morning at 8am, and I feel like my heart is going to pop out any minute. I'm so nervous, anxious, scared, and every other emotion I can ever think of...lol

I just can't wait to finish the exam and finally start on my summer break!!(along with the job hunting...)

congrats :) and I would also be too scared to check the pop-up thing too...haha

Hi there, I think I have a pretty good idea who the author of this post is. I must say, if you aren't who I think you are, then I'm really not stalking you, I just thought you were someone else. :)

I was with this encouraging young lady when we took the NCLEX today. We took it together. We went all through nursing school with each other.. Pretty much held each other up through good times and bad. It's pretty much mandatory to go through it with a friend; To keep your head above water. And to relentlessly talk about bulls***t questions on exams and vent about all the frustrations. I mean it is Nursing after all, only the strong survive. I was very blessed to have her by my side for the past two years including today; and I'm even more lucky to have her stand next to me when I get married next year.

For those of you taking this exam soon, she gives good advice. There is no stronger enemy than your own anxiety. My first thought when it was over was, "nothing could have prepared me for that test!" But I will say my said dear friend and I had a moment of prayer beforehand. That's the best way to go though it once you hit that brick wall and say, "I'm done. That's it, no more." and we all know when that sets in. There's no way you can rationalize if you are "ready." Just take a deep breath and go with what you know. You know more than you need to going in, trust me.

My only piece of advice: No matter what: Trust your first instinct. It stood out to you for a reason, so pick it.

And by the way, go through it with a friend, it makes all the difference in the world.

I listened to hurst review like twice. Did practice test from saunders 5 edition, exam cram cd, kaplan questions from the green book ( strategies) n cd that came with it.oh n a MUST is PRIORITIZATION AND DELEGATION..( only questions not case studies) thats it..do NOT use too many books..it WILL overwhelm you..QUALITY NOT QUANTITY..

GOOD LUCK..BE CONFIDENT and do NOT panic...

I passed ..i passed...i passed.....woooohooooooo....thank god i feel so blessed....

For all who are about to give the test..just be calm ...and pray i( if you are religious).. For me if it was not for my prayers and faith..i would never have done it!! Good luck n be confident!!! If i could do it..YOU CAN!!
