I am in block one at MCC. I love it. It is a really intense program, just make sure you do find a study group as stated before. Also, it is true that you have to get a 76% on your test to pass, the test points are what determines if you pass block one or not. Also, be prepared for additional supplies you need to pay for. So far it has been so much fun but also very stressful at times. Just remember that you can do it and you have to study at least 30 hours a week because there is A LOT of reading to do. So have fun this summer and do all the things you want to do before class starts, because you will have no time. You will have your nose in the books at all times!! good luck everyone!
oh PS....the tests are completely different then any other test you have ever taken before. They are not as easy as your pre preq tests have been!! so just a heads up!

Greetings! I too, recently got accepted for the fall at MCC. My stamp was 10/16/09 8:00.08
I got in on the SECOND round of placements they made last Tuesday, 3/15. MCC was my first choice, so I was pretty happy!
Interestingly, there was a note on the page where you log into to check your status that said that over 40 placement offers were rescinded because applicants who reaffirmed on or after 2/22 didn't not respond after being placed in the first round for fall 11. Imagine that! I guess this what got me a spot!
I have taken Pathophysiology and liked it. I will look for the iTunes nursing lectures from MCC and review those over the summer. I am currently taking Spanish for Healthcare Workers.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Congratulations! One week down, 14 or so more to go.... Don't worry, we all feel the same way after the first week. I am in Block 3 and I just want to cry...there is so much information and so little time. I try to remember that I felt the same way at the beginning of Block 2 and Block 1 and I made it through just fine. Just give it a few weeks to get used to all this new stuff that is being thrown at you and don't forget to study a little every day. You may want to get yourself the Mary Ann Hogan book on Nursing Fundamentals. Her books are very helpful and I can highly recommend them. Just google them and you will find that there is a book for each area. She also has one for Fluids, Electrolytes and Acid-Base Balance. If you have any issues with that subject, that book will really help you to understand. Good Luck and just keep pushing ahead. You will do just fine.
I survived the first week too! I am with you Courts 53 I am feeling extremely overwhelmed as well! You are not alone:) At least our teachers are extremely sweet! That helps
