  1. oh PS....the tests are completely different then any other test you have ever taken before. They are not as easy as your pre preq tests have been!! so just a heads up!
  2. I am in block one at MCC. I love it. It is a really intense program, just make sure you do find a study group as stated before. Also, it is true that you have to get a 76% on your test to pass, the test points are what determines if you pass block one or not. Also, be prepared for additional supplies you need to pay for. So far it has been so much fun but also very stressful at times. Just remember that you can do it and you have to study at least 30 hours a week because there is A LOT of reading to do. So have fun this summer and do all the things you want to do before class starts, because you will have no time. You will have your nose in the books at all times!! good luck everyone!
  3. I recently bought a Black on Black Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope and i can not find a place in the Phoenix/Tempe/Chandler/Mesa area that will engrave it. At this point I would drive almost anywhere to get it engraved. I was told to go to Things Remembered but i went there and they told me that the machine can not engrave it because there is not enough room to do so. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME??
  4. i would love to meet you at starbucks! I work m-f 10-7. So a saturday or a sunday would work out great! Thank you for the updates..i need to check my email to see if i got my paperwork! Thak you so much for all the help. It is funny because my boyfriend lives right on gilbert and university, so the cpr class is literally a 2 min walk! Let me know when you would like to meet up!
  5. Hey Melanie! i have not heard anything about a review class for math or a regular review. Is it before school starts or during block 1? I do need to take the CPR class. Where did you get yours? Also i think i am just going to buy my books at the bookstore. I picked 5 schools, and i just got in after applying in January 2009. Oh, have you recieved your packet in the mail yet? I am still waiting for mine, so i really have no idea what to expect or do before we start. Did you buy your stethoscope yet? If you havent i would highly recommend the littman cardiac lll, It is expensive but it is the best one i have found! when you get one, get your name engraved on it. My friend who graduated last year from MCC told me that they "walk off" all the time! If you could please let me know the CPR information i would greatly appreciate it! talk to you soon!
  6. I got accepted into MCC in Spring 2011..My name is Katie and i had a date and time stamp of 2-20-09. There is a great store to get all your gear for school, it is called Apperal Pro on University and 52nd st. I was just there yesterday and they have the lists of every schools requirements. They have the MCC uniform there. I bought 2 sets of scrubs for about $80. They are not that good looking, just royal blue. The best thing about that place is you get 25% off because you are a nursing student! I am so excited to start school!! it has been a long wait! Congrats everyone!
  7. After a 2 year wait i FINALLY GOT ACCEPTED!! Time stamp was 2-20-09 8:05, and i got my first choice MCC!! So excited the wait if finally over!
  8. az melanie My first choice is Gateway, i really want to go to that program. My second is MCC and i put CGCC also. I have not heard great things about CGCC also. Well i guess we have to wait till October to find out! Good luck to you!!
  9. i dont want to sound harsh, but i have a 2-20-09 8:05.32 time stamp and i did not get in, in Fall 2010. I think that people with a june 09 time stamp will start in the Fall 2011, because there were a lot of people who applied in Januay. I talked to an advisor at MCC and she stated that it is now about 2-3 year wait to get in, if you just applied. It is a very long wait but it will be worth it in the end. Stay positive people!!
  10. Yeah...I am really happy now I know where I am on the list.congrats on getting in!!
  11. what was your date and time stamp? my frient got placed in Gateway accelerated in October! My date and time stamp is 2-20-09. i am trying to figure out where i am on the list!
  12. Personally i would not go to Chamberlin. I have been to the campus and spoke with them about applying. My Family lives is St Louis Mo (where the origional Chamberlin is located) whom some of them are in the medical field. There advice to me was to not go there. They have a bad reputation in St Louis. Plus it is a "trade" school who takes people right out of high school and then they graduatie in 3 years with BS in nursing. With all other schools it is 2 years of pre req's, 2 years of wait time, and 2 years of nursing school. Also take a good look at there graduating percents. They were from 1999! I also work in a doctors office and i come across many doctors, and they all say to just stick with a Community College or a University because it would be worth it in the long run. That is just my opinion, and what many doctors and medical professionals have told me. Just please do your research before applying to a trade school because it might not be worth it.
  13. i have a time stamp of 2-20-09 at 8:05.31, and i am still waiting
  14. congrats!! I hope you enjoy the next few months before school starts!
