I just finished the TEAS test and scored a 93.5% Adjusted Individual Score!
If anyone has questions, I may be able to answer them.
I got a 92.4% on the TEAS IV, but I was studying the TEAS V study manual that my friend gave to me. I had to study more about Earth Science than was in the book. I only had two days to study because of finals for my classes, so I studied for hours and hours straight. I don't recommend doing that, but I'm glad I got such a good score. If you are taking the TEAS IV, you should supplement your studying with some Physics, Chemistry, Geology, etc.
I am studying for the TEAS IV test which I will be taking next month Jan 2010. Was wondering...which resources you used to study for the Physics, Chem, Geology, etc?
Also, I'm pressed for time but, am not working and have been studying 2-4 hours for the past 3 days. Out of curiousity, about how many days and hours a day did you study? BTW, congrats and I'm inspired by your test results and hoping mine are close to yours!
Those are good places to start for the first two. The physics was the hardest part for me, since I've never taken any physics before. The chemistry was okay since I have taken a chemistry class. For the rest, I just looked up stuff about the types of rocks, volcanoes, fault types, water cycle, types of clouds, etc.
I studied for two days. I was pressed for time since my class finals were right before. I pretty much woke up, ate some food, and then sat with the study manual for 8-10 hours straight, just taking breaks to eat and use the bathroom. It was a tiring two days, but I made it through. Thanks so much!! :w00t:
Best of luck to you!!
Just got my result today for version 5, scored a 79.3%. I never studied for TEAS anyway nor do I like TEAS. for version 4, I got a flat 80% and never studied either, so I'm pretty much on the same level all the time. I don't plan on taking TEAS anymore, I really hate this pointless exam.
That "pointless exam" could make our break your chances of getting into nursing school. You should study and take it again...or not. If you decide not to take it again it just increases the chance of someone else getting your seat in nursing school, so im sure that person will support your decision.

I'm pretty sure I'll get in nursing school. Teas isn't the only factor in determining acceptance. Besides, this is the first time my school is accepting the teas. I'm confident that I'll get in with a 79.3 with an "advanced," my school wants at least "proficient." I got into a nursing school with a flat 80 on teas IV. I withdrew and dropped out. now I'm trying and coming back again, this time stronger. I don't just look at teas scores, but my gpa, experiences, foreign languages, etc... that are all looked at. moreover, I cannot take it again as the application period passed for my choice of school and the deadline is this week to submit teas scores. if you've heard about San Francisco State University or applied for it, then you'd understand.
good luck to you if you are still applying to nursing school. best of luck to you if you are in nursing school.
So, if I bought the V5 book and am taking V3, it is not worth studying from V5 at all?? Isn't it pretty much all the same stuff??? I had no idea that I was taking V3, until yesterday and I have 2 weeks to study. I really would hate to have to go out and spend another $50 on a book. I also purchased McGraw Hill Nursing School Entrance Exam book.
Why are you taking the v3? If it's not a school requirement to take the V3, then I'd go find a place to take version V. As they're supposed to be phasing out Version 4 soon (and they should have phased out version 3).
You don't want to make the mistake I did and take V4 only to be told by the schools that now I need Version 5.

I wasn't aware that they were still offering the TEAS 3 test since they are currently on version 5. But, to answer your question, the versions contain slightly different material from what i've read up on. In version 5 they didn't have geology and physical science questions, but i've read that they do have them on earlier versions, so you may no be fully prepared for that if you only use a version 5 study guide. If you only have two weeks then you probably don't have much time to order the book (if it's even possible to order a version 3 book still) in time and study for it. Good luck either way.
Thank you for answering me so quick.
I called the school yesterday to find out what version I would be taking, and they said V3...I was also told that there is no science either, only Reading, Math and English. So, should I bother getting the book for 3 if it is only on the 3 subjects?
I did find both answers weird since V5 is the latest version of the test. Isn't knowing Science important?? I am applying to Eastwick in Hackensack, NJ. If anyone knows anything about this weird thing with the test, or has anything to say about the school, please let me know.
Thank you again for answering me so quick!!
