I think I'm the first graduate, from what they tell me. Ask away if you have questions! ?

I currently work for a Home Health company with EMR services outsourced, do you know of any peers that had a similar situation? How would I go about connecting with someone that could assist me with the capstone project when that comes? Thank you again for your information!
WGU can help find a preceptor if you can't find one, although I am guessing that could extend the time taken to complete the degree. I don;t think it would matter if your EMR is outsourced, as long as you can access it. It's more about functionality, usability, etc.

For health assessment, you record an assessment on a friend/family member/etc. You also have to complete a PE simulator and throw in a couple of papers. ?
Hi, I am a bit late but congrats on your degree!
I have a question in regards to the Capstone. I read through the comments and noticed you mentioned it's different from management and education capstone. My question is, did you have to defend your project or was it just a powerpoint presentation? Thank you!

It's a powerpoint - you do present it on video but no questions are asked.
I suggest everyone does their research into Nursing Informatic careers and education before you sign up quickly to a MSN Informatics program. i was initially enrolled in the ADN-MSN Informatics course. I have no healthcare IT experience or informatics experience. I started to do more research and compare the WGU program to other MSN Informatic programs. I found the WGU program rather lacking when compared to older more established online programs. It also did not make sense to me for for someone with no informatics experience to get a MSN degree. HIMISS had a great article on landing your first nursing informatics position. It clearly mentions that having a MSN informatic degree is pretty useless without experience. I decided I need a more broad foundational education in health information/informatics. Thankfully, WGU does have a well established certified CAHIIM Health Information Management Bachelors degree program. After you complete the program you can then sit for the RHIA certification exam and also get a CompTIA Project+ certificate upon graduation.
