Just finished LPN-get a job or go back to school for RN right away???

How about both?

I'd definitely get right back into working towards your RN, but there's no reason why you cannot work as an LPN while you're doing it.

Good advice, Klone! Working even part-time as an LPN will definitely give you an edge in the RN program.

That is exactly what I'll be doing. LPN bridge right away and work P/T as LPN for the hands on (actually for the money but the hands on will be a plus!)

Good luck and keep us posted. I would LOVE to hear how things work out for you since I'll be taking the same path in the near future.

Thanks for the advice.

I was leaning towards both already, but needed to hear it from someone else. I have visited 2 universities, and are considering both RN programs..

It shall be interesting and hopefully a lot of fun. Going to school, working, and juggling the schedules of soccer, softball, track, band of the 6 kids(3biological and 3 step) will definately keep me busy. Kids and family are very supportive, and hubby is open to whatever I choose.

We have to work hard for what we want, and this is something I have wanted for a long time.

I'm with everyone else! I plan on working as an LPN while taking my classes for RN. I'll probably take my chemistry and A&P II that first year while I'm on the waiting list. Hopefully I'll be able to get into the RN program after that. :)

Yup, that's my plan too....well, sort of. I'm taking all of my pre-reqs and general ed's for the RN while waiting out the waitlist for the LPN program. (I THINK I'm starting that in August.) Then once I get my LPN license, I can jump right into the RN bridge. (No wait list there.) I'm thinking I'll work one day a week or so as an LPN while doing the RN school. I'll have just the nursing classes to take so hopefully I can even manage time for my 3 kids. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!
