Just wanted to share with you guys how difficult this course was to take in six weeks. I will never take a science course in six weeks again. I took A&P I in the spring of 2007 and got an A. I am praying for a B but will probably end up with a C. This will have dropped my gpa from a 4.0 down to who knows what. I did nothing but study and put my life on hold for this class. Half of the class failed or dropped. I'm worried this will hinder my chances of getting into the RN program for the fall of 2008. I was so stressed for six weeks and I'm thankful this class is over! Now I've got anxiety waiting for my grade.

I seriously could not imagine having to take that in 6 weeks!!! Kudos to you for even attempting it!!! At least you passed, right? You are done now and can relax. Congrats!!
I hope it does not affect your chances of getting into the program...good luck!

I took A&P1 this summer but here it was 8 weeks instead of 6. It was very tough and I made a B in lecture (almost an A 89.2) and I bet if I would have taken it during fall or spring I would have gotten an A. I don't think I could have managed in 6 weeks....8 was hard enough.
We didn't have to wait long for our grades. Our teacher had them posted on Blackboard (formerly WebCT) that afternoon. I hate having to wait. Keep us posted on how you did.
Congrats for surviving.

I can relate. ALL my courses are 1 month, that is 4 weeks or 20 days long. I had A & P I and II both in one month each. I CAN TOTALLY relate to the difficulty in taking classes, especially science classes, in such a short time. My Micro class in January is going to be the same way. I did get an A in AP I and a B in AP II, taking it in one month I can't complain about the B.
Good luck in your other studies.

Great job! You did amazing. I am jealous of your A. :monkeydance:
(Insert laughter here) Umm..Thanks. Our school has what they call "weeders" classes and tests placed strategically so that they can have a High first time pass rate on their NCLEX. They have a 95 first time pass rate on the NCLEX so, I can't complain. Our class has this little saying "I don't want to be a weed, cause they will PLUCK you"

I know the struggle of taking A&P's during the summer. I took both A&P I and II last summer in 5-week sessions, back to back. It was pretty insane...I was either studying, or spending extra time in the labs looking at 6 human cadavers, or looking at slides under the microscope. I was only one of about 3 people out of 80 that made A's in both A&P I and II during these 5-week sessions. It really was hard, but I couldn't ever imagine taking A&P along with other courses, even during a 16-week session. So, I'm really glad I focused totally on doing it during these 5-week sessions, and not having any other classes. I couldn't make A's in both classes any other way.
After a week and a half of waiting for my grade, it came today, I got a "B", thank goodness. I have been on edge waiting. I'm sure like many of you, I really wanted that A, but knew after the second week of class, it wasnt going to happen. My GPA is down to a 3.6, I'm hoping I can get it back up this fall. I'm taking four non science classes on line starting next week. I'm sure they'll be a breeze compaired to A&P II. Thanks for your support:-)

I want to start taking pre-requisites in 2008. Does it sound like too much to take A&P I, Freshman Development Seminar, Intro to Psychology, and Intro to Social Sciences in spring 2008? If A&P is so hard should I take it by itself with just the Freshman Development Seminar and take Psychology and Social Sciences in the summer along with Medical Terminology?
