Just curious - wich NC test is the hardest?

Hi guys,

I'm new at Excelsior :) I'm taking my first exam next week and just thinking - what order should I take the rest of the exams? I'd like to take the easy one first (well, ok.. I know that there is no such thing.. Maybe, not easy, but the easiest) and leave the hardest one to be the last test, so I have more time to study.

So, if you can tell me which test you found to be the most difficult, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

nc2 failed it twice.

For me NC1 was the hardest, and NC3 was the easiest for me. NC5 wasn't bad, but I did NC7 first and NC1 last.

Guys, you are soo right - it is different for everyone. So far I'm done with Health Safety, Chronicity, Reproductive, and LS1. Chronicity was bad - got a B and still soo happy that this test is over!

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it :) Have LS3/NC6 scheduled for next Friday.

what!! you finished 4 exams in one month? how did you do that? please share how you study for those exams and how many days you put in studying. did you take 1 exam a week or you all took them the same time? please do share.

i am taking chronicity tomorrow after 9 days of enrolling. i really did not "study" as i am pretty confident that i will get a passing grade. well, i shall see if my confidence will give me at least a c. then i will determine how i tackle the rest of the exams. my lpn program was superb and i still remember a lot of things. i am so tempted to just try and "challenge" an exam without giving any effort but i don't think that's the right way of doing this program. i do not know, i am just mumbling.

good luck with ec. with the rate you're going, you'll be done in a couple of months. :yeah:

thanks,

I did have 2 tests a week. (I also took A&P and Micro, but they don't count, because even if I took them in Sept, I've been studying 3 weeks before that)

First of all, I do not work right now. My husband and I talked and we decided to make my study my full time job. So I have an opportunity to study at least 8 hours a day (then I have to pick up my son and my study is over until he is asleep - it is not possible to study in front of 2.5 y. o. :D )

Another this is - I realized that I have a lot of knowledge left after my LPN classes. I always was "over-studying" for my tests in LPN school. I don't know how to describe what I was thinking then - something "If I made a mistake on a test, I can make the same mistake in real life and it can hurt someone". I never studied just to pass the test.

And I think I have to thank my Mom and Dad for a good genes - I really can hold a lot of info just after reading it once. Well, except pharmacology - I have flash cards everywhere :D (ok, ,it is a big secret, but I'm telling it now - some even in a restroom. On a wall in front of.. well, you know. Have time to read about at least one drug several times a day :D)

So, how I study. Before I even open anything, I take a practice test. It is really gives me the perspective of what to study and what I already know. Then I study :) I have studygroup101 notes, some books, notes from freehelpexcelsiorstudents yahoo group and my favorite - online connection, so I can reach Wikipedia :D Plus, Google, of course. Google knows everything :)

Good luck! And thanks :)

And another thing - my house is a mess (really), my husband cooked on Sunday for half of the week because I have time only for studying and playing with my son :) Yesterday we had pizza for supper instead of me actually cooking something. My husband is such a big support for me. Couldn't do it without him :)

thanks for sharing your study techniques. i just finished studying for chronicity. i should go and have some sleep before i take the test in the afternoon.

i am always a crammer studying the night before. that's how i always studied for my computer science degree and lpn. i'm hoping it will also work for this rn program. i shall see. if not, i would have to change my study habits to make this work. for now, i am just testing the "water" and see how far i can swim without drowning.

good for you for having a very supportive spouse! well, gotta go now and sleep.

good luck to all of us ec students.

I found 3 to be a bear.

Before last Friday I would have said NC3 because I bummed that one miserably earlier in the year. Even after I studied my butt off for my first attempt I failed. Which I guess that failure could be attributed to outside factors as well.

Fast forward to last Friday and without studying any of the NC3 content since the failure; I came out of my retest last week with a "B". I'm not telling ya'll not to study but I am advising to go into each exam with a clear head, utilize the ear plugs especially if the room is full of other testers, and read all the available answers for the questions and reason in your mind which each one is or isn't the correct answer.

yikes. i got a c. i am happy i passed but i am feeling guilty because i know i could have done better. i must be crazy because i am expecting a good grade without really studying. it's so weird that in my practice exams, i always failed and got the lowest grade on sensory impairments so last night i only studied that section using my lpn book and it's my highest score on the real exam. on to lifespan 1...

thanks!
