I just received my letter in the mail yesterday telling me I have been accpeted to the CCP Nursing Program. I am sending my deposit out today because I always seem to forget about those types of things. Is there anything else I should know or expect? I don't start until September 2010, but it seems much more real today than yesterday. I know I have a while yet, but I am feeling a little anxious already. I really want this a don't want to mess it up. Any Words of Wisdom?

Congratulations! I bet you would have a better chance of specific response to your post either in the Student forum, or in your State's forum (drop down menu at the top for Region).
Thank You for the advice... (I am a new member)

Congratulations!! I also applied for the program and was just thinking about when they were going to be sending out acceptance letters...I guess I have my answer. I was wondering when you sent your application and took the AHT, because I dropped off my application a day before the due date and just took the AHT on 1/25. I'm so anxious; it's all I can think about. I am trying to get a feel for when they send the letter, and if it has to do with when you applied or took the AHT. Sorry I can't give you much in words of wisdom, but again, congratulations on getting into the program!!!
i sent my application back in early December and took the AHT on 1/14. I went and got my results for the AHT on 1/26 and received my acceptance yesterday 2/3. Maybe it has to do with when you send the papers back. Either way Good Luck, and hopefully I will be seeing you in September!!!

I'm in the CCP program right now. It's very tough but as long as you recognize that you'll need to work hard, and really commit to it, there's no reason you can't succeed. The instructors are really easy going and really go out of their way to help you, so don't be afraid to ask. The first few weeks will seem CHAOTIC, but once you get the hang of things you'll be fine. Go to the skills lab after class as much as possible, there's always students in there practicing or studying together, and the tutors are really good. Better yet, see if they will hire you as a first year lab assistant or a second year tutor. You get paid to study! Just remember to take it all in stride, ask lots of questions, make lots of friends and have fun! You'll do great!! Let me know if you have any questions!!
Thank you very much. I will be sure to ask you questions if any pop up... I am looking forward to getting started

Hey guys,
I was also accepted to the program. I also applied to Jeff's ASN-BSN program but then received an email saying that due to the lack of programs hiring nurses with ASN degrees they are not doing the program this year.
I think I had a mini-freak out when I thought that I wasn't going to be able to find a job after graduation. I already have a BA from Temple so I qualify to start an accelerated BSN. I am just not sure that I want to commit that kind of money and time to a program. I keep going back and forth between wanting to finish with a BSN and a ASN. I think that CCP is a good safe bet though, I can try to to find a job and then go back to finish my BSN right away.
Also, I am planning on taking anatomy this summer to get it out of the way. I was told that if we take some of the non-nursing classes it will lighten our load once the program starts. That makes a lot of sense to me. However, I am finding it very difficult to find out when registration actually starts for the summer sessions. The problem with CCP is no one is available to answer questions. Every other nursing program has a number you can call to talk to an advisor- good luck talking to a real person at CCP!! That makes me a little nervous, I like to stay well informed.
Anyway, see you guys in the fall, maybe we can start a study group!!
Hi again! I guess I will be seeing you next fall... just got my acceptance letter yesterday!! I know we have to make a deposit to hold our spot in the program, but that wasn't included in the letter they sent. Do they send a separate letter with the deposit info? Sorry in advance for all the annoying questions.
When I got my acceptance letter it included a little slip of orange paper that I had to return with my deposit check. Then this week I received the packet with all of the background check stuff in it. I have to go to Holy Family University to get the fingerprinting done. That was $40.00 and there were two $10.00 money orders for the criminal background check and the child abuse clearance. It's starting to add up!
That's funny...I received all the background check info with my acceptance letter, but no orange deposit slip. Hmm.. maybe I should talk to someone at the school. Congrats on your acceptance to the program!!
Yea i received all my background info this past Saturday. I received an orange slip with mty acceptance letter stating that I need to send in $50 to keep my spot. Good Luck
