July 2012 Nclex Takers

Published

This is my first time posting on here, I graduated from nursing school Dec 2010 and took nclex may 2011, I failed after taking all the questions, I was extremely depressed for months but today May 16, 2012 I have decided to push forward and begin my journey to becoming a nurse. I signed up for the hurst review today which begins tomorrow my goal is to set a test date in July I'm not sure how realistic that is but for now that's the plan. I have many review books and plan to do atleast 100 questions a day. For those who plan to take nclex in July lets support one another, and those who have passed please share any tips or advise you have................thanks

I am graduating this Saturday! I thought this day would never come lol. I am planing to take th nclex in July as well. However, I have to design a study plan, I don't even know how to begin studying......congrats to those who have passed nclex recently, can someone share what you did the first day!? Where did u begin?! Etc....thank you, hugs

Congratulations healthstar I know you're super excited about graduation. It's good that you are planning to take boards right after graduation that was where I went wrong I waited a few months and kinda got lazy and out of study mode. My advice would be to focus on only maybe two review books, I have over 6 books and that along cause me to panic I didn't know where to start, I would recommend kaplan because test taking tips and strategies are key and also exam cram, I didn't study my exam cram book much because it was mostly content and and the questions at the end of each chapter were so difficult to me, but after taking nclex I wished I had studied exam cram more because the question were almost exactly the same, so this time around I'm during the hurst live review, kaplan, and exam cram

Hi, I'll be graduating this weekend also! planning to take the nclex in july/august too.Would like to study with others on the same path!

Specializes in Operating Room, LTAC.

Hey all and congrats! I am also about to graduate this weekend as well...yay! I am in for support. And its great that you aren't giving up, it doesn't matter if you fall - but that you get up again. I know it's cliche, but hey :D. So, the plan is to take the test in July/August, hopefully July at the latest. I, too, have to make a study plan or I would most definitely be all over the place. The study materials I have are Kaplan Strategies Book, Kaplan Medication Book, Saunders, Exam Cram, LaCharity, Lippincott Q & A, NCLEX 4000, and other some study materials. I am also thinking about taking the NCSBN online course, possibly. I'm up for a study group or even just study updates if anyone else is, because at the moment I just can't stay consistent with the studying! Good Luck and God Bless!

Congratulations future nurses I hope u all have an amazing time celebrating your graduation!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's all come up with a way that we can study together I'm not sure which books you all have, I'm thinking we could all try to answer 100-200 questions a day using the same book if possible if not just whichever books you have and check in everyday, few days or once a week letting everyone know if you meeting your 100-200 question a day goal......that's just an study idea if u have any suggestion please share, my goal is for us all to pass!!!!!! (As soon as I round up all my books I'll post them on here and we can go from there)

Hi you guys, Im new to this site. Ijust graduated from a PN program 2 weeks ago and even though we graduated my school makes us go through ATI tutoring before they release our transcripts to the BON. i'm currently waiting to take my predictor today. ATI is really hard, but the rumor is that the test are exactly like nclex for both the pn and rn test. Which tells me that there's tons of tricky questions that are hard to understand. i also have exam cram, it has alot of good content and a great question bank. I also have saunders. I used that to help me when i first started school to help me learn how to answer questions for my test in theory. I dont know if i really like the question bank but the book has great content and is an easy read.

Hello future nurses I'm back!!!!!! I just finished the hurst review yesterday and i must say it was exactly what I needed it is a content based review also you get 2 weeks to watch the videos to reinforce the material. The videos are the same as the live review they go over the workbook and material just as it is presented in the live review. I will be using the hurst material and exam cram book to review content

Hello there Hinta.bhalla, I'm glad you are pushing forward, we all have completed nursing school there is no way a test should stop us from becoming who we set out to become..........I'm praying that me, you and whoever is on this nclex journey PASS!!!!!!

hello,

Amazingly yours and mind story are kind similar. I graduated in 2010 and took nclex NOV 2010 but failed and i was so disappointed, plus i was pregnant with my second baby so i blamed it all on the pregnancy;). then after the baby and a whole one year break i decided to give nclex a shot. I already had hurst videos and i watched it all 3times each. I watched that video really good i believe i can finish Marlin's sentence in that video. i did the mock questions and i read saudlers book to go over things that wasn't covered on hurts video then took NCLEX but didn't pass and it was ok cause it kind of introduced me back to NCLEX again cause i totally forgot the style. so when my grade paper came i had all the categories near pass. then i decided to do NCLEX 4000... i did 150-265questions a day from custom build, client need category. exactly like the exam categorize them so i passed on the third shot.

don't forget to read the 5th day material from the hurts.

i had a problem with pharm but i couldn't do anythings since i can't study all the drugs available so i tried to study the ones on ssudlers book.

i believe doing more questions helped me to be ready for the exam since i was comfortable with the materials covered on hurts. it helped me to adopt questions.

hope it help.

Best of luck :)
