Hi,
Do any of you have to keep a journal for your clinical experiences? If so, what do you write about? My new instructor said that she would cut our requirement for care plans if we kept a journal.
If you are an instructor, what are you looking for?
Thanks for your help,
Yeah, only 4 more weeks, final on May 6th.

All UK students are advised to keep a reflective journal. In it they write about their experiences on the wards and then are encouraged to reflect on what happened and how they handled the situation. In this way they can approach similar situations with more confidence.

I keep a journal but I'm a distance student (Indiana State) and it's part of our required documentation that we turn in to our instructors.

I don't but have considered doing so. It would be a great way to reflect on how you've grown during school. Also a great way to account for some of the technical skills you have perfomed (helpful in reseme-writing), and to express feelings about moral issuea that occur during school. Not to mention, if you ever get called into court for something, you may not remember that patient, but could look back in your journal for help.
