Johns Hopkins University Masters Entry into Nursing Spring 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I figured I would start a thread for those students who are applying or did apply for the Johns Hopkins Masters Entry into Nursing program for spring 2016.

Hi welcome Pennycheong.

Congrats on your admission. It is really a big achievement. I am also waiting. hoping for the best. Would you mind sharing your IELTs or Tofel score. I am overseas student as well, just worried about my english language test score.

Hi Ali,

Thanks. Sure, no problem. I took TOEFL and got a total score of 108 out of 120. But in my opinion, anything above 90 or 100 is rather safe. How did you do on your test?

Finger crossed for you!

Hi Penny,

Thanks for your reply. I took IELTs and I scored 7 band. Lets see what happens. Waiting. When are you planning to move here in USA? Good Luck to you.

Hi Everyone! I am not going to lie, you all kept me going during the long wait. So thanks for that! I got accepted two Fridays ago, and am a little late to the game. I am really nervous about financing this endeavor. I have been lucky that I have never had to be in debt to this point. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Finally got an acceptance email this morning! I couldn't be more excited about this offer!!

@Midazzz I got a call a few days after the email! I'm still waiting for the packet though (problems of living on the west coast). I think I'm going to defer until Fall 2016. It's just not plausible, especially since I budgeted in a full time job until at least April to help pay for school.

Last question for all, does anyone know if the MSN program feeds into the post-masters certificate for NP? I read the application for the post masters, and it looks like we're required to have experience before applying (makes sense, but I want to check).

Contrats to all!!

The word on that is that they are developing pathways into advanced practice and terminal degrees (DNP & PhD) for the Master's Entry students but haven't announced they yet.

Thats a good score :) Around early january. I've yet to buy my flight ticket. I'm still waiting for the acceptance package. It's taking really long.

I've a really stupid question. I know the JHU MSN course has 5 semesters. I was just wondering how many months/years will it take. Initially i thought 5 semesters = 2.5 years. But someone mentioned it's only 1.5 years? Please help me out.

JHU MSN program is 22 months long and 5 semesters.

Spring 2016 to Summer 2017 (Spring, Summer & Fall 2016, Spring & Summer 2017). This covers January 2016 - August 2017. Hope that helps!
