Hi Everyone,
I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing MSN program for August 2021 applicants. I started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the November 1st deadline . Anyone else??

I’m only applying to one ABSN and I’ve heard different solutions. Has anyone in this situation spoken to a financial aid office for guidance?
I also had the same question!! So far I just filled it out as if I was an ABSN student. Since a majority of the programs I am applying too are. If I get accepted into a masters program I will just reedit my FASFA.
What do y'all think about the acceptance rate for JHU vs. other programs? Is the supposed ~40% acceptance on the high side compared to ABSN and other direct-entry MSN programs? I keep hearing people say how these programs are "extremely competitive" and I'm unsure what percentage acceptance is considered competitive. On the other hand, I do feel like the people who end up applying for JHU are self-selectively competitive because of JHU having more requirements than some other schools (like when I first learned they needed 3 recommendation letters I definitely hesitated LOL). Anyways, kind of a random and inconsequential topic, but interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

I think part of it has to do with the amount of seats they have. I’m from California and the schools I applied to here accept cohorts of like 30, 50, and 70. So when they receive up to 500 applications the chances are slim compared to JHU and Columbia who accept bigger cohorts of like 160 and 200.

On top of what @nutritionandnursing said, you also have to factor in the number of applicants. It is known that most state schools have more applicants vying for the limited number of seats available.

They email you with a link to an application portal which will have the full letter along with scholarship information in it. Although the email started with “congratulations!” ?

LOL that makes me feel anxious and relieved all at once!! I'm not going to ask you what the subject line was. ?

I just checked out the Fall 2020 thread, and it seems people weren't getting decisions until mid-late March. I hope that is not the case but won't get my hopes up. ?
Hello! Thought I would actually make an account for allnurses since I’m now in the very, very anxious phase and convinced no school wants to take me. I’ve been lurking around these message boards and have seen amazing GPAs for AccBac and ELMSN programs, so I’m feeling discouraged. I would love to attend Johns Hopkins. Anyway, I’m now anxiously awaiting with you.

I'm feeling anxious as well. Hopefully these next few months pass quickly and we'll have some good news. Hang in there!
