Hi Everyone,
I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins entry into nursing MSN program for January 2021 applicants. I just started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the July 1st deadline. Anyone else?? ?
Also, if anyone previously accepted here has any application tips, please do share. Thank you!

It’s not a guarantee but it’s possible I’ve seen people from last years forum get taken off of the waitlist around November

You can also go the to School of Medicine's off campus housing site. There's a section specifically to help people find roommates. It's for the SON, SOM, and SPH. I did not have much luck with it, but I think females in the mid 20s to 30s will have good luck with it.
Worse case scenario, one can always go to the 929 apartments and they'll "match" you with some people.

Are the 929 apartments bad? I heard many students live there. I was looking into them but IDK if there are better alternatives around the area.

I also thought after the first semester - but I could be wrong! it's an excellent way to build skills while earning some (nominal) income. There are loads of casual/on-call research assistantships available, additionally, that are paid between $15-$20 hourly. Useful for those seeking research exposure and interested in the academic aspects of nursing. I was considering these options!

I was a fellow of the State Department's Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX) 2013-2014, but nothing as rigorous as the Peace Corps. One of the main draws for me with Hopkins was the international focus and its role as a hub for international students and returned exchange alumni, Peace Corps members.

Can we obtain the certificate beforehand? I was thinking of taking the course here at home while I still had the time and flexibility.

It’s definitely not bad. It’s close to campus. Classes will be online as of right now so IDK if you care much about being close to campus. I have visited and stayed in 929 apartments they are a great option if you care about convenience. You can get your own studio or have 1-3 roommates.
