Hi all!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've also applied for an ABSN program. I was wondering what your career plans are? Do you plan on pursuing a DNP after receiving your MSN? Would you plan to take a year to work in between? Are any of you interested in research or pursuing a PhD in Nursing following the program? Anyone interested in the Global Health sector?

I am curious to know how others will take their degree forwards!

I applied to the MSN Direct Entry program. I initially wanted to get into a direct entry NP program, but didn't realize how competitive they were, so am applying to ABSN and other ELMSN programs. I'm hoping more doors will open up for an NP program once I become an RN.

I am! They told me they are planning to release decisions in early March.

My career plan is to first earn a generalist MSN or ABSN, get some bedside nursing experience, and then pursue a DNP to become a NP--I'm currently undecided between adult acute vs. primary vs. FNP programs. My major interest is oncology (as my username suggests!) but I'm also really interested in geriatrics. I would love to be involved in research as well (I currently work in oncology clinical research) but don't think the PhD/research exclusive track is for me, as I want to be a clinician primarily.

Thank you for offering to provide insights! How do you find the program so far? What would you say are its strong points? How are the professors? What recommendations would you give incoming students in terms of how best to prepare before the start of the program?
