John Tyler - Fall 2016

Who is planning on applying for the JTCC programs for Fall, 2016?

I'm only applying to the hybrid track (thanks to my little kiddos at home, lol)!

Does anyone know if it's advantageous to apply to only one track or two both?

They do let you know either way I have heard.

The will send you an email with a letter attached. The letter will either be congratulations or the unfortunately....

Don't give up hope, I remember last semester on a similar forum not everyone found out at the same time. Wishing you lots of luck!!

Wondering about scheduling...do we go ahead and do schedules now or wait till after the May 11th meeting? Also, anyone spoke to other nursing students about the health assessment class? I am debating on virtual vs classroom, got any ideas?

Thanks!

I don't think we schedule anything yet. There is also another email coming soon with more info. But I'm like you and just want to get this ball rolling already! I have such a planning personality and feel better knowing way ahead of time what my commitments are :)

Anyone have any idea what the lab/clinical schedule will be like for the hybrid track ?

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum, but I also got in for the traditional track next fall! Very excited to meet everyone :)

I believe in the first half of he semester it's 2 4-hour lab days for Nursing I, and a 3 hr. skills lab for Health Assessment. Then the second half of the semester is a 10 hr. clinical day and the health assessment lab.

Thanks! I called and left a message with advisor still waiting to hear back!

Welcome! Does your screen name mean you have nursing practitioner aspirations? If so, me, too!

Hi Hmfog! Yes I do want to be a nurse practitioner, so cool that you do as well :) Are you on the traditional or hybrid track?

Hybrid. You?

NP school may be a ways off for me, though. I'm 30 and have three kids. I think after getting my RN, I'll shoot for my BSN pretty much immediately since a lot of the hospitals require it within 5 years. But after that I think I'll let things settle down a little to give my family a break. I'm think I'll do NP school when my kids are all able to be latchkey, lol.

That sounds like a great plan to me!

I'm a sophomore in college so I'm hoping to go ahead and try and get my BSN pretty soon after this program, then work and get more experience in regular nursing before pursuing NP school.

Have you always had aspirations to be a nurse?
