John Muir RN New Grad 2017

Published

I applied for the John Muir RN New Grad program for their Walnut Creek location. Has anyone heard back from them at either campus?

Concord has already called all of the people they are planning to interview, but Walnut Creek hasn't even started calling. I heard they will this week though. I had an interview with the nurse recruiter for Concord and was advanced to panel interviews next week. Good luck!

Congratulations! That's awesome! Was there anything you think that helped you stand out to get the first interview with the recruiter?

I had an interview with Concord last week, haven't heard anything yet about advancing to the panel. I also applied to Walnut Creek and haven't heard anything yet, hopefully soon!

Just curious did you do your senior preceptorship there?

I didn't, I'm a completely external applicant. When I asked about internal vs. external applicants, the interviewer told me that all internals automatically get a first interview, but after that they are considered in the same manner as external applicants.

Do you think this includes clinical rotations completed there as well or just preceptorship?

That, I am not sure of.

I got a call from walnut creek today requesting an interview. I had my interview a few days ago with Concord and advanced to panels next week. Was told by Walnut Creek recruiter to call back tomorrow (because I don't have my ATT yet)... so we will see what happens. Fairly certain Walnut Creek won't interview people who don't have their test date before March 1st, and I haven't heard anything from the BRN yet :(

hwesterly any info how you stood out to both hospitals? Thanks :)

I did my senior preceptorship in the ED at Walnut Creek, so that probably helped a lot. I also revised my cover letter and resume a million times and prepped a ton for the interview! They will be opening up another application for their fall cohort in late May, early June... good luck! :)

Thanks for your quick response. I do believe that's what helped as well. Looks like I need to revise my resume and cover letter again. Good Luck and thanks for the heads up on the next program :)
