I think that years of experience is what is preferred but I would still apply even with little/no experience. You may be able to get your foot in the door somewhere. My first (and current) job was posted wanting experience but I applied anyways. I had done a placement at this workplace so they knew me already.
Hi pickles27! I've read some of your posts and learned that you were IEN from the Philippines and was asssessed by the CNO for both RN and LPN just like me. My question is, how were you able to take the CRNE while you were LPN? Didthe CNO asked you to take additional studies from universities/ institutions?

I am just wondering since I am browsing job opportunities for both RNs and RPNs. It always say on job postings that there should be x number of years in nursing to qualify for a job. I am thinking how could a newly graduate nurse or IEN (Internationally Educated Nurses) can jumpstart their careers if nobody wants to hire them since they have 0 number of years experience. It is so discouraging in my opinions. Any inputs?
