You're kidding right? OMG ROTFL........
Sorry, just a little light hearted joke. Magnet certified facilities (and a lot of people think Magnet is a joke) tend to be a little better in that part of the requirements is that nursing has some self-governence there.
Good luck in finding something that fits. No place is every going to be perfect. I've been at my facility for 16 years. I've always felt supported by middle management more than upper management and I've found some semblence of peace.
It took me 4 long years to find a job where I truly fit in. I still don't feel supported by management, but I wouldn't trade 95% of my coworkers for anyone else. We have a true team environment and our shift thrives, even when it's bad. We have each other's backs and support each other; if we have a near code situation, noone has to ask for help, it's freely offered, such as passing meds and running strips for each other. Everyone checks on everyone else before they leave at the end of shift to make sure noone is too far behind, and willingly and gladly stay for a few extra minutes to help if needed. We're also management's worst nightmare, unafraid to confront them (in a respectful manner) regarding their unrealistic expectations and safety issues.
It may take a while to find the place that is the right fit for you, but it will eventually happen. Be a leader, be respectful, be willing to help and to impart your knowledge and experience, and even if you're in what seems like a bad place you may be able to be an agent for change.

I will graduate in May. Are there any suggestions for job sites where nurses are actually happy and are treated well by management?
Thank you.
