I know an RPN that works in a doctors office and another that works in a dermatologists office.Maybe you could find something like that.I am an RPN that works in a hospital setting and I was quite nervous at first but now I love it.I have a part time position on a chronic care unit but I float to med/surg,cardiac and pediatric units. Any job that does not include bedside care usually requires that you have some bedside experience first.

I'm not sure how things work in Canada, but I'm an LPN in Florida, and have worked as a Case Manager and have also done Disease Management. I got tired of it because almost 90% of my work was dealing with paperwork and most of my patient contact was done over the phone. Maybe it's something you'd like doing.
Good luck!

If you have any knowledge of electronic medical records programs that is an exciting field to get into. The pay is often double or triple what you'd earn anywhere else. You can travel if you want...I've been doing it for 2 1/2 years and it has been great!

Any "paper" job is going to severely limit your patient interaction time. If you want lots of paperwork and nursing one client at a time, try home care.

EMR*LPN,
Were you able to get this job out of school or did you have experience prior? Thanks!

Hi dear i think its just because you are new, i am also in mississauga and finished around same time, am working with agencies at the moment as i have not been able to get anything yet, i get overwhelm too cos i am not oriented in any unit i go to and so am also asking the same questions. I dont know if you have thought of footcare in the community.
