I interviewed for a Baylor position today. I am new grad LPN and I was offered $16hr at LTC facility. It is a 60 bed facility very clean. I was told there are two sections A & B(30 patients in A and 30 patients in B) and I would have a 15 patient load and the other nurse would have 15. How would I know if I'm being underpaid or not?. Do you think this sounds fair considering patient load etc? I'm relatively happy with the offer considering I'm new. I met with the DON today, but will meet with the HR manager tomorrow or Monday she will have the final say on if they hire me and also payscale. The DON had to call to find out the base pay( because she is also new), but it looks very promising. The DON said she is very interesed in me. Do you guys know if there is usually a shift diff from 3 to 7 on Baylor? I know each facility have their own policies on pay but should I expect shift diff from 3 to 7pm. The expected shift is sat and sun 7am to 7pm=32.
Thanks for any responses:)

Congratulations. Share the state you are in so someone can tell you if the pay sounds reasonable. :)

If you are referring to Baylor in Texas, and you are a brand new LPN, I think that it's a good offer!
Wow! I became an LVN 12 years ago, and as a new LVN I only made $8.00 an hour.

15 patients per nurse in a LTC sounds great! Just make sure there is a tx nurse or very few treatments needed if you have to do them. That could take a lot of time :)

Hello:
I live in Louisiana and one of the LPN's at a major hospital in Baton Rouge told me she is making 12.00 hourly in a clinic setting .
LPN's do not make that much money around the United States. Look a http://www.monster.com and click on salary information for your state. My state the average pay is 34,000.00 annually.
God has bless you with 16.00 an hour . You should jump at that pay :redlight: .
Hope this helps ,

It sounds good for an LPN. My sister-inlaw doesn't make that in acute care. It been along time since LPN for me but I would go for it. Good luck.
