Hi all I am a new grad RN in southern CA. I had an interview last week and was offered the job on the spot. At that time the DON told me the hourly wage I would start at but I received written job offer today from HR and wage is $3.00 less/hour. Any suggestions on handling this?

Call HR? Possible mgmt misquoted though. I actually faintly remember something similar happening when I got my first job as a nurse assistant.
I was originally offered a rate of an experienced nurse assistant. Once HR did their papers however they saw I had no experience and hence my offered rate was lower then originally quoted.
Could be similar circumstances. Most you can do is call HR to inquire and ask yourself how much you want this job.

That is a violation of the terms of your employment. Even a verbal offer is usually considered a 'contract' when it comes to employment. I agree with PP - raise a stink about it in HR.
Thank you for the responses I called HR and it ended up me just being a dummy new grad didn't realize that was rate without differentials.

If you were a "dummy new grad", You would have never made it through nursing school. Congratulations on your new position :)
Thank you for the nice comment.
