  1. Do you like everything else about your current job? Hours, pay coworkers etc...If all else is good it were me I would stay put until something else comes up. The idea of driving 2 hours a day and being away from family longer would be difficult if I didn't have to do that.
  2. As a first year student I hated them by 2nd year I was able to do them fast. Now they really do help you in thinking about your patient care and interventions to anticipate for your patient. It will all come together.
  3. I just graduated an ADN program last spring. Single mom and worked nights as a waitress during school. I had a bachelors in business before. For me I found that juggling everything made me try harder in school and found that more than half my class was in their late 20's-40'swith lots going on. There were younger students with no other responsibilities and they either were the ones get A's or failing out of school. The 2 years were stressful and intense but somehow I managed I am sure you can do it too! Lots of red bull and coffee! Some days I only had a couple hours sleep but i knew i couldnt give up. My daughter would watch a ton more tv than suggested at times but oh well. Also I took out small loans to help. I remember starting my pre reqs looking on here for the same type posts and I just kept going little by little. Some semesters we had class/clinical 4 days and some only 3. I applied to 5 schools and got in to 1 school.
  4. I think that would be way to much personally. Are you already accepted into a nursing program? If not it's really important to get best grade u can in a&p and micro.
  5. Thank you for the responses I called HR and it ended up me just being a dummy new grad didn't realize that was rate without differentials.
  6. Hi all I am a new grad RN in southern CA. I had an interview last week and was offered the job on the spot. At that time the DON told me the hourly wage I would start at but I received written job offer today from HR and wage is $3.00 less/hour. Any suggestions on handling this?
  7. I used/ recommend nclex mastery app , a book by Lacharity - prioritization and delegation, and kaplan questions(i just don't recommend the in class portion of kaplan)
  8. thanks ! That is great. What school did u end up going to?
  9. Thank you so much everyone ! Saying my prayers ! Good luck to everyone else ! Nice to have others in the same situation! Friends and family don't understand trying to get into nursing school.
  10. I received an email that I was an alternate this morning. I didn't get accepted into Cerritos or rio just waiting on Glendale. The alternate does not have a number so I have no idea how that works.
  11. Has anyone that applied to Cerritos not received a letter yet ? I haven't received a letter and applied for generic adn program. I will call in the am. Ugh so stressful !
