It's been almost 4 weeks now since I submitted my job approval request. What's the average wait time for these things?
I understand it all depends on how backed up the BRN is but it's crazy to think that they can't even get a job approval done within a months time. I've already talked to my monitor and he said that I'm just going to have to wait and there's nothing else to do.
Financially things suck and I need to get my career started. Orientation already started last week and they told me that they would wait for me but how long are the truly going to wait? I don't see them waiting over 2 or 3 months at this point.

That's just insane. It's hard enough for us to get a job, why add this ridiculousness? I am in TPAPN, the Texas peer assistance program. When I have had a job offer, I've emailed my case manager to make sure it's ok, then my new manager makes the phone call to my case manager, and that's it. All happens in a day. Once, the case manager was not available but he called back within a couple hours.

My approval took less than a week. That seems very odd to me.

I'd be on them daily. That's bull cookies. The facility may be okay with waiting but you're right. "Your just going to have to wait" is not an acceptable answer. Your monitor sounds completely useless.

Yep, I called my case manager every day. Remind them that they are supposed to be HELPING you. Not being able to pay your rent has no therapeutic value r/t to the treatment of addiction or anything else. In fact, financial woes are a stressor that are likely to lead to relapse. Of course these case managers could care less and that's the root of the problem. They seem to view their roles as people who dole out punishment just because so fool gave them the power to so do and not be of any help what so ever. Good luck
Hey all thanks for your responses.
So what a coincidence but my workplace called me saying that I've been approved! I think me calling and bugging the crap out of my monitor probably played a role lol.
As a new grad I was struggling but I'm looking forward to starting this new chapter. God bless everyone.
