Jeff State Summer 2011

Hey! I thought I would start a thread for all the people that are applying for summer admittance into jeff state so we could get to know our possible future classmates. They're accepting 50 on each campus and with the compass completely gone,and the teas v being solely relied on plus course points of course, I think this will make for a INTERESTING admission process to say the least! Any input and comments are welcomed;-)

*whew*I was getting worried there for a minute! Thanks for all of you all suggestions. I think that nursing school is like "mind over matter" when I was starting 202 this past semester I was so scared to go through the clad but I end up with a C! It was a high C the inly C ive gotten in college- But I got through it! So I'm just gonna go in with the determination that I'm gonna get through it, block out any negativity and just do what I have to do and hope for the best! God didn't bring me this far to leave me!

I was told the spring class started at 45 and there is now 20 or so. I should ask the advisor, that sounds crazy! I'm so glad to hear encouraging words, that really freaked me out!!! I know a significant amount of the graduating class did not pass the nclex. So, they are cracking down and changing test formats. I'm sure y'all are much smarter than me but I just have to wait until fall. Please keep us hopefuls posted!!!

Really??!? I thought that the last graduating class had a significant amount of Nclex passers! That's interesting!

That is how I was too! Like so worried because of all the horror stories! I am also not going to listen to the negative feedback and take one day at a time! WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Shelby was 100% pass but Jefferson Campus was not. Apparently, they are cracking down-hard. No more, open book tests, reformatting tests etc.. But you are right. WE CAN DO THIS!!! It will only make us better nurses!

Lol open book test!!?! My friend is in first semester now and from what I understand those teachers are the most inconsiderate people you can ever wncounte. From what she's saying they don't help you at all! And she's at Jefferson!

Cone to think of it I did hear something about test format changes. I heard from my friend the director completely switched up the pharmacology test at the last minute claiming it wasn't hard enough. Slot of them are having to do retest!

Wow and yikers! I'm glad we know all this stuff going into it. We know what's coming. Are they really retaking their final exam, that is brutal.

Is the Shelby campus the same way?:confused:

I've actually hard Shelby was worser! Atleast at Jefferson were able to use tape recorders and stuff. At Shelby they can't use tape recorders at all!!

@futurernjap the teachers in 1st semster are so nice they even baby you I talk to them all the time one is young and sarcastic but you would have to be really sensitive to think they won't help you and they are inconsiderate I will say that they put up with a lot of crazy stuff we were in class one day our teach was teaching and some girl walks in and ask our teacher has she seen mrs. so and so we were like *** how rude, some people think they should hold your hand only you know your friend but I can tell you those teacher still know my name and they are invested in you and they really want to see you do well now 2nd is another story oh yeah if you know anyone that started before last summer and they tell you the teachers were bad thats probally true but they cleaned house and now they have the best teachers in the whole program

Oh yeah the Nclex changed this past may so thats why they changed testing and don't worry about nclex just finish school and study your butt off everything will fall into place thats what I i am doing

Thanks lsk40! I really appreciate how encouraging you are! Hopefully I'll be in your shoes one day doing the encouraging! It all seems to be coming so fast! I'm online ordering my sethescope now! I want a littman! But I really hope the program has got better because when I took 201 there in fall 2007 I heard those teachers were a mess! But I dud gear they got better. The sarcastic teacher your referring to has to be the fundamentals teacher! She cracked me up at orientation the expressions and looks and answers she gave to people who had questions but I've been following up with her about things to start going over and seems really impressed by my determination and dedication I'm showing to putting my best foot forward in the program. I don't expect for them to baby walk me through the program but hopefully they will be there to guide me when needed!
