I haven't seen one on here yet...so I wanted to start a thread for those applying for Spring 2011 at Jeff State. Everything seems so much more stressful now that you don't really know where you stand. Before they changed the point system, you generally knew where you stood. Now that they have add the TEAS V, it seems like you have no clue! So anyone applying...please respond! Thanks and good luck!
Hey,
I am at the Shelby Campus starting Spring 2011. At orientation I thought they said they were going to email us the drug screen/background check information and where to go to pay as well as the scholarship information. So far I haven't gotten any emails. Does anyone know if this information has been sent out yet? I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks a bunch!
Thank you so much for your response.
When I go to the pipeline and click on "access your blackboard courses," and then I click on NUR102, mine still says, "This section is not available yet." Maybe I'm just having technical difficulties.
Does anyone at the Shelby Campus know if our instructors have posted the information or emailed it to us yet, or how to access it? Thanks in advance!
I am going to the Shelby Campus too! I have not received any emails about the drug screening fees or scholarships. However, I did see they had a link to print off an application for a scholarship for disadvantaged nursing students on Jeff State's homepage a couple of weeks ago but it was due on Dec. 3rd. If I get any emails or find out any more info. I will keep you posted :)
Words of advice to everyone from someone who just finished their first semester at shelby: don't worry about all the med forms and background checks...there will be time and the first day is used for stuff like that. Read your book, read your book, read your book as much as you can. Try not to stress about validations because the teachers are there to help as much as they can. One day at a time.
Hey! I've done the calculations packet. I kinda skimmed the book and then just referred to it as needed while I did it.
As far as the "required reading," I was honestly wondering that myself. I haven't seen any information about what is expected and I didn't have anything about it in my packet, except to do it. So, I've just been reading and skimming the books, just to go ahead and get familiar with them and learning as much as I can (because it can't hurt to be prepared)! :)
I've read the first several chapters of the Physical Assessment book, and kinda skimmed the rest. I've just started looking at the Fundamentals of Nursing, and after I get about 5 chapters in I'll probably just flip through the rest and then start looking at Pharmacology.
So that's what I've been doing. If anyone else has any other info, let us know!
And also, no word on the website we are supposed to go to in order to pay for the drug test/background check as far as I know.
See you all on Friday. :)

I believe that is correct... I think I remember on my phone call she actually said General Studies Building. It's probably a typo on that little green card.
