Jeff State Fall hopefuls 2016

Published

Hello, this thread is for the Jeff State fall hopefuls 2016. Application deadline is May 12 @ 4:30pm. I applied to both programs, night and weekend program being my first pick with a total of 190 points. I Also applied to the day program with my three picks being Jefferson campus, Shelby campus and pell city campus last. I was admitted into the program before but withdrew because of a death in the family. Ive had time to grieve and im ready to rock and roll. Ive missed nursing so much and im so excited. For all the new candidates, nursing is hard. It demands of lot of attention. Sometimes more than a newborn infant. Stay grounded and lets complete nursing school.

Well I just called and spoke with someone in Nursing. She couldn't tell me how many applied or the points cut off BUT she did she we should find out THIS WEEK. God help us all!

O-M-G. I'm so nervous! I wish when you turned in your packet you knew right then. Lol. My nerves are so bad! And you think we will get letters and emails this week??!!!

Well she told me we would find out this week and it would be by email. I called the Nursing Dept so it should be a pretty reliable source.

Now I'm even more nervous! I'm just hoping and looking for good news for us all!

Hello Everyone!

Has anyone heard of extra things we will need to buy (if we are accepted) other than (the basic school supplies) uniforms, shoes, stethoscope, tuitions & books.

I called this morning just to see if they knew anything about the point cutoff, and the lady was SO rude. She said it would be by the end of this month and to not call up there anymore...

That's weird. The lady I talked to said this week and she was very friendly. I sure hope she was right about it being this week.

Maybe she was just having a bad day. :) Hope it is this week too!

I'm sure they get sick of us calling...but they could be a little more considerate. My whole life is basically on hold until I find out whether I'm accepted or not. Not to mention trying to prepare for the cost of it all because I don't receive financial aide. Taking over a month to go through the applicants is a little excessive!!

Maybe she was just having a bad day. :) Hope it is this week too!

I'm sorry she was rude to you! But I agree...we have a LOT of planning to do to get our lives ready for nursing school, so it should not surprise them when we have waited over a month to learn our fates in the program. Bless their hearts. It must take a lot of work sifting through all those applicants. I sure hope we find something out this week. I am hoping for Pell City with a 225.5.

You don't have anything to worry about. I've heard no one with over 200 points has been denied. I'm not 100% on that fact, but with 225.5 points you are well beyond that mark.
