Jeff State Fall 2014 Hopefuls

Hey everyone! I know this is sort of early, but I am planning on applying for the Fall 2014 nursing program at the Jeff State / Center Point campus! Looking for other Fall hopefuls :nurse::up:

Yay! I got my acceptance letter in the mail!...not from Jeff State though, from Wallace. Just wanted to test your heart condition, gotta make sure it's ready for nursing school, lol :-p

speaking as someone whos attended both wallace and jeff state- go with wallace. jeff states expects you to hit the ground running vs. wallace who breaks things down. they even have a student success program geared towards helping students pass from one semester to the next and offer free tutoring. im there now persuing my RN. im in 3rd semester. Im also a LPN.

Thanks so much for the insight. I too am a previous student of Jeff State. I attended the morning program at Shelby this past spring and I definitely agree with you 100% about Jeff State. They really set us up for failure. I ended up failing one class and had to reapply so I decided this time to look at the state nursing board statistics and sites like ratemyprofessor.com and research the blogs a bit more in depth and Wallace is amongst the highest as it relates to NClex pass rates. The location is not as convenient as the other schools I've applied to but based on their student resources and success rates and the fact that they will allow me to transfer the nursing courses I passed i'm seriously considering taking that drive!

To some of the previous boards, I am happy to hear about your acceptance to other schools! Congrats! But I think we should all remember that this is a jeff state board! And many antsy students waiting to get accepted into jeffstate nursing shouldn't have to hear negative things about the institution setting us up for failure. This is the school we want to get into! We don't want to hear bad things about it! Well, I don't anyway. No hard feelings at all! Just something to think about! ;)

We are all applicants of Jeff State and can post what want. I definitely understand if you don't want to read it so don't. The fact that I've reapplied in spite of my opinion on the program should speak volumes. As I've stated before my posts are not to be negative it's to provide realistic current information on the program so one may better prepare themselves mentally.

He/She referenced to the statement I made "set us up to fail". This Is why I responded. Again I've never posted anything with negative intentions. I've only responded when asked why I didn't wish to attend Shelby again and also replied to someone in reference to their post about their experience with Shelby Campus. Let me just say good luck to everyone. This is my queue to leave the post :-)

Well, no hard feelings. We are all here for the same reason and I think we all need positive encouragement. I, too, didn't like reading the other persons post bashing Jeff State (not your post).. But I just ignored it. Anyway, just my two cents.
