Jeff State Fall 2014 Hopefuls

U.S.A. Alabama

Hey everyone! I know this is sort of early, but I am planning on applying for the Fall 2014 nursing program at the Jeff State / Center Point campus! Looking for other Fall hopefuls :nurse::up:

I am planning to apply to the Shelby campus. Have you done your Teas Test yet? I took mines last year but didn't do good. I want at least a 90 on it and studying on an off right now since Bio 201 and speech 101 has most of my time.

I am taking my TEAS test on March 12! Getting close, and I am nervous :nailbiting: I am also studying on and off for it. I am currently in BIO 202, Speech, Psychology and Math 100, so I have a full load on top of studying for the TEAS. Good luck in 201! A&P is no joke!

Little advice dont stress over the teas and let your other grades go down. Getting a's is what you want !:)

I am planning on applying for Fall 2014. I'm scheduled to take TEAS on March 12th. I'm trying to keep myself from being nervous about the TEAS.

Im also going to be applying! Right now I have a 177.5, but am going to retake my TEAS so try and get in the 180s or higher. Im kicking myself now for not going ahead and applying for the summer. I read on another thread where the cutoff is going to be close to 170 :/

The only pre-reqs I have left is A&P II and Micro. Any advice on which I should take this summer compared to taking one with nursing school (if I get in for the fall), or should I double up on them to get them out of the way?

I would go ahead and do them now. Nursing school is going to be hard enough. I heard not to try and do pre reqs during nursing school!

I would not recommend taking both this summer unless you will have lots of time to dedicate to studying. A&P II is way more involved than A&P I. And, since it's a shorter semester that adds another layer of stress by itself. I took Micro at a different school so I have no idea how intensive it is at Jeff State.

The micro teacher at Jeff state is super helpful and she told me summer is the best time to take it. It's not ideal to take micro and anatomy 2 together, but definitely doable. I'd much rather take them together than to take either with nursing classes!

On another note, I took the teas today and did MUCH better than I expected! So glad to have that behind me! Now to make an A in math and anatomy 2!

Do y'all happen to know if you retake the TEAS test and you happen to do worse the second time what score do they take? The better of the two or the most recent?

They take the better of the two
