Jeff State Fall 2013 hopefuls

Published

Hi Everyone,

I just applied to The RN program at Jeff State and I wanted to get a thread going for other Fall 2013 hopefuls. If you're like me, the next couple months of waiting is going to be torture and I just thought it would be helpful to have somewhere to go to help pass the time with others in our situation :) I'm pretty optimistic and think I have a good chance, but you just never know! What kind of scores did everyone apply with? I wonder what the cutoff will be? I was told it could be late July before we hear anything...anyone hear something different? Also, who is applying for part-time and who is applying for full-time?

Look forward to meeting you all and GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE!

No I haven't heard of any letters going out yet. :(

I heard from someone and then here that rejection letters have gone out. I am not sure what to think because a friend of mine called the school and they said no letters have gone out. I just hope they let us know soon! I feel like I am going crazy!

Did you ever call to see about that class?

I seriously doubt letters have gone out. When I talked with the adviser awhile back around the beginning of May. she mentioned it would probably be the full six weeks before we start to hear anything.

Did you ever call to see about that class?
no, I never called, but when I went in there to get my points added up, I asked him specifically if I could use that class because of how old it is. He said it was fine. I'm not going to worry about it too much. Either I get in or I don't, knowing that wont change anything.

That's what she told me too but i know of a few that have said they have gotten rejection letters. I never saw them so I don't know. I guess we will find out when we find out. It's driving me crazy though.

I keep checking my jeff state email and my mailbox everyday hoping and praying I get that good news! If anyone on here has gotten a rejection letter or email would you mind letting the rest of us know? Im sorry if that's insensitive I just would like to know how it was delivered to you.

That would be nice if people would tell us even though it is embarrassing it would help us to know how to expect to hear the news. They usually do phone calls and emails but since that advisor is on leave I guess we will get emails or letters maybe both. This week is the month mark.

Is it true that the part time program doesn't need the vaccines right away? What about CPR? I am trying to figure everything out because the longer the wait to tell us the less time we have before school starts to get ready.

I don't think there is anything to be embarrassed about if you don't get in. This is a VERY competetive program and I know several people who didn't make it the first time around. But I think it's for a good reason, they want you to be successful in the program, ya know? If you get in and aren't truly prepared you are gonna struggle the whole way through. Anyway, yes it's dissappointing, but no I don't think anyone should be embarrassed!

Bamagirl - I can't speak for the vaccines, but I know that for the night and weekend program you don't have to get your CPR certification until the second semester. Also, I do know that at orientation they give you a list of things you need to have completed before a certain date, but that date is not the first day of class...they know it takes time and they allow you enough to get it done :)

I emailed one of the advisor and she said it would be at the end of June and she thanks us for our patience. Hopes this helps

Yes it does help! It means that I need to stop looking for an email/letter for awhile. Then again, didnt they say that last time and it only take another week?

Yeah they said 6 weeks for the summer term and they heard at exactly the month mark.
