Can anyone with insight on this program, please tell me all there is to know experience there, pros, cons, etc. I'm new o allnurses and haven't been getting much feedback on here, please guys I don't bite lol. Thanks!
Hi all! so glad I found the post. I am looking to apply for the GN program at Baptist that begins in July. I will graduate in may with my ADN RN. As of right now there is not much information about the program online. I am looking for any information, help and advise! Such as do ADN RNs get offered positions and what is the salary offered, does the two year contract began after the program, what are they looking for resume wise? etc.. Thank you!!
Logan_ann,
Yes, they do hire ADN new grads. The starting salary we were offered was base rate of $23. There is an additional 1$ differential for BSN, $5 weekend diff and $3.25 night diff.
I started in the first cohort and did not sign a contract, so I'm unsure as to how the new cohorts are being handled in regards to a contract of service.
I begin the GN program on the 22nd & I have my ADN. I was offered a position in the ED at the Baptist Clay campus. The base pay is $23 and $1 extra with a BSN. 0.50 extra with a CNA license. They didn't require us to sign a contract, but we did sign a form that stated we were to have a BSN within 4 years I believe. Good luck!
The applications have opened again for this program. Can any current nurses in this program update us on your progress, experience? Are there any nurses in your cohorts that weren't RECENT graduates? I know the program defines new grad as "A new graduate†is defined as an RN who has been licensed for 12 months or less.".

It is my understanding that you must be licensed
