I'm also looking to apply to that program! I'm moving from Connecticut this summer and just graduated with my BSN. I'm still trying to figure out the job market in the JAX area!
I do know that Long Term Care facilities hire fairly quickly and pay more for first yr nurses without experience. However the opportunity at Baptist is a great one because you go into a hospital your first job, which is pretty awesome on a resume. I can email you the info for the Grad nurse position at Baptist if you like. I am new on allnurses and can't seem to find much support lol. I don't mind sharing
Oh no worries! I've actually been working with a recruiter at Baptist for the last month or so. I have a good friend of mine that I served with in the military that works at the South location who got me in touch with them. I did see the job listing pop up yesterday afternoon and if I'm not lucky enough to get one of the jobs that I've already been working toward, I'll definitely be applying to that job.
Thank you for the offer though! Good luck to you!
Hi NurseBaddie83! I got the interview invitation email today! Did you?
Hi! I actually have yet to contact the recruiter. I just recieved my ATT and scheduled for June 10th(super excited). I have the recruiters information and I will give her a call on Monday. I am super excited about the opportunity. The residency has 2 dates July 22nd and Aug 17th I think. The deadline for my application is June 22nd. I am sooo excited for you KTColemen30. You got this! Please keep me informed on how it goes for you.Good Luck!!!!!
That's wonderful news about your ATT! I'm still waiting on mine since I had to send out of state transcripts. Most likely by the end of next week and I'm shooting for the same time frame as you! Right around the 10th assuming there's a testing center around me that has open appointments then. I may have to drive a few hours, but that's ok. I'd rather take it sooner than later.
Just a head's up, they did change the application to reflect new start dates:
Start Dates: August 17th, 2015 & September 14, 2015 (***Please notes these dates have been modified from originally stated dates)
I'm sure yours is on the way! Was the process hard for you once you got in touch with the recruiter? And have you found out anything in regards to pay? Benefits?Etc?
I didn't actually get in touch with the recruiter for the new grad position. I was working with him for two other positions in L&D, one of which is still in "under review" status. I just filled out the application and uploaded my resume. I also uploaded a copy of my transcripts and a letter of recommendation in a different section of the job site just in case they wanted to see them.
I also applied to the Mayo Clinic New Grad program as well. I know that they are paying their nurse residents $24.95 per hour, but I'm not sure what Baptist is paying. I'm guessing we'll find out during the interview?
I plan on continuing to apply to multiple positions in hopes that I may have a choice between 2 or 3. I know that's not realistic, but one can only hope :-)
Awesome! I will be praying for you and please pray for me I definitely want to one and DONE this nclex:)
