2012 January Aria students?

Published

Hi. Anyone apply for Aria SON? for January 2012 start?:)

Ughh. I'm jealous. I miss school so badly!

I don't really know what area of nursing I'm excited about yet. All I'm really sure of is I dnt wanna work in a nursing home...

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations on your decision to pursue nursing :). I've read the post and I feel better knowing that I'm not the only impatient one. I've wanted to be a nurse all my life. I wish you guys all the best and pray that we all get into Aria :)

Anyone get a Tier yet? I'm still in review. It's so hard to be patient and wait. Now we have to go through the weekend not knowing :(

@celeste: I can understand that, nursing homes aren't the most exciting place to work.

@Faith: I know, It can't come quick enough! & thanks, good luck to you too! :)

@bumblebee & YYKS: I've cut down drastically in checking my status too. That being said, the reason I stopped is bc I recently called the admissions counselor who told me that they don't publish the tier. I didn't ask about that further but she did say we should get our letters around the 2nd week of October. As far as the online application update, I don't know when or what will be posted on there since they seem to be changing the admissions process... But why get rid of posting the tier?!? At least that would've eliminated some of the pain of waiting.. I hope they change their minds and just post it. :(

2nd week of October is going to take forever and more!!!...Im so scared to call admissIons..I've call the admissions officer at least 1000 times. She probably knows my name by heart now.

Thanks for the update. Now this wait is going to even harder

I wish they would atleast tell us over the phone what tier we are

Yeah, October feels soo far away right now.. I wonder if they would give it to us that way, but I'm with Faith0528 on this one; I'm afraid to call admissions to ask and find out what the answer would be lol.

Are u scared to call because you have called a hundred times already or because you are scared of finding out your tier lol

Lol more so bc I figure if they're not publishing the tier, then they might not want us to know our tier for whatever reason and I don't want to ask them for it if that's the case.

Hey everyone! I wanted to introduce myself- I too am applying for the January 2012 semester. Although this is very exciting, I too am quite anxious to hear back from admissions. I am a 25 y.o. who cannot wait to start nursing school! I interviewed with Julie back in August and that went very well (seems like everyone who has posted had a good interview experience..) Im wondering if you all can tell me about yourselves- and also, I know this is personal but Im wondering where people are in terms of average GPA? I did very well on the TEAS, but my academic past is a biy shaky, averaging at about a 3.1 I know the school requires a 2.75 so I'm hoping this is okay...

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!! I look forward to hearing back from you all, sometimes I feel that "we" the applicants are ye only ones who understand this crazy stressful time!!

hmmm. that sucks! they don't? actually, i only knew about the applicant checklist and tier from this forum. When I first started reading, I took my own initiative and looked to see if i had my own account. Fortunately, after putting in my name, I did have one..even though I never received an email about it.

When I had my interview Julie told that the letters would be sent in 3-4 weeks from them. I had my interview on 9/7 so first two weeks of October sounds about right.

I am utterly bored at home looking for things to study, do and prep and looking for a part time job related to nursing without any degrees/certificates.

@Jwow :) lol, thats what my sisters call me =P

anyway, to answer your inquiries...

my name's Jenn, im 21yrs old, went to Temple for 3 years and finished all nursing prereqs plus way extra. no degrees/certificates/clinical experience. I live about 10-15minutes away from Aria and still hopeful about getting in.

I have a 3.0GPA so your better off than I ;]

My TEAS scores are:

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 72.0%

ATI Academic

Preparedness Level: Proficient

Mean - National: 63.3%

Mean - Program: 64.7%

Percentile Rank - National: 74

Percentile Rank - Program: 74

I took my Teas last year at BBC for a different nursing program... so not sure how these scores lie with Aria tho.

um.. other than that.. i work part time babysitting and had experience in waitressing, retail and others.. but nothing really in the hospital field except for an internship in high school and some volunteer work there too.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND EVERYONE TOO!
