Hey,
I just wanted to know if there are any Jamaican nurses here and what was the transition like in migrating to the US from Jamaica. Were recruiters true to their word and was it hard getting somewhere to stay etc?? I am hoping to leave here after i have finished my bachelors but i am a little hesitant as i have friends who have gone overseas to work (not as nurses) and they say they weren't treated well and stuff:(. Is there anyone here in this position or knows anyone who was/is this position???

I believe with retrogression you won't be able to immigrate to the US until things change. I have had many Jamician students but they were trained in the US so I can't answer the question.

Right now it does not matter what a recruiter promises, they do not issue visas. And we do not have any right now.
Retrogression has been going on for getting close to two years, so many are waiting already.
well i didnt know that was the case, as i know more than one nurses who are going through the process of leaving and i know of one who has many years of experience and her papers have just been successfully processed so she should be leaving before the end of the year, she is now organizing her family for the move. My sister lives there and we were talking about the retrogression that the US was going through but i am to visit her this month so I guess when i come I'll know more. I didnt and still dont know the full extent of what is happening in the US but
Thanks alot for your advice
