Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Researching online RN-BSN, RN-MSN programs and have tried the JU demo. It seems much more professional than some others I have looked into. Has any one used them? They are more expensive than some! I like the idea of not spending a fortune...anyone have a great recommendation?

Thanks for your input!

Read the RN to BSN thread - top one w/ a sticky on the distance learning thread. Lots of people have already done research and there is a ton of useful information in this thread.

The JU program interface is prettier, but when you read the RN to BSN thread you're going to find that the JU content is about the same as you can get elsewhere for a little less $$$. You might also want to check out the program policies... which clases and how many additional ones do they require for the BSN or MSN degree compared to similar programs at other colleges? Will they accept all your credits in transfer? etc.

I have taken 4 courses so far with JU and find the quality of education high. As a matter of fact, there are alot more papers than expected. I am not happy with the number of non nursing courses I must take though. I am considering transferring to a local traditional state university to finish up. I live and work in California and JU is in FL so they can deny many general ed courses from my AA degree(I have one in nursing and one in Liberal Arts actually). So I have 14 courses left after have over 100 college level units(lower and upper div). I think the school is very organized though, and you can always get very fast help from course moderators.

Good luck :wink2:
