J. Sargeant Reynolds Fall 2017

Published

Hey everyone,

I applied for Reynolds fall 2017 RN program that closes may 15th. Just wanted to see everyone's scores for the Kaplan test. We are supposed to hear back 1st or 2nd week of June. Good luck everyone!

I took the Kaplan twice to better my science score.

1st test: Reading 82%, Math 93%, Writing 86%, Science 75%

2nd test: Reading 91%, Math 96%, Writing 71%, Science 80%

Well I was happy to know I was 2nd on the list to get accepted but I got a call. I didn't get anything in writing. No email or letter yet. I mean I appreciate the call but I also heard from my coworkers who are students that they hate it. I really need a stable, organized program. Henceforth why I will be keeping my spot at Piedmont Virginia Community College. I hope all of you who do decide to attend jsr get a quality education. As for me, I just registered for my ODU RN to BSN classes YAYYYYY

Congrats!!! I am waiting to start my ODU. And yes, I want quality not disorganized considering I will be taking care of lives, I need a program that will teach me how to be competent. I applied to bon secours, I am an employee at the moment too.

Oh bon secours is good. I work there and at vcu I pay or of pocket for school so double tuition assistance will come in handy lol. But they are very organized. Funny bc I was excited to go to jsr. It's 15 minutes from my house and they do clinical at vcu and I work there already so I just knew it would be great. I literally drive over an hour away to go to class at pvcc. Pretty interesting. To say the least. I have been through this process b4 and I can't afford for anything to take it away from me and my family.

If they're not accepting all 80 applicants than they should be starting from highest scores and working their way down someone has already been accepted with a lower weighted score than mine so that makes no sense.

Mr. King said on Thursday that he was waiting for people to turn documents in and once they turned them in it would affect the list so thats why the people haven't been notified yet. Essentially someone with a 73 could be "in" right now but could get bumped off if the person with a 75 turns their docs in. But i think what has happened is the lack of instructors has affected the list. Theres no way they are still waiting on people to turn documents in. That deadline was in May. Nothing at the point makes sense and that's why I'm washing my hands of this program.

Oh sweet, you work for both? I am trying to get a job at vcu fulltime. What shifts are you working at bon secours and vcu? I heard bon secours nursing is great.

With all this being said, where else will you all try? I beg of you, go ANYWHERE BUT BRYANT AND STRATTON. It is absolutely the worst program and the director is the devil. She prides herself on making your life a living hell. 60 ppl will start and only 5 will graduate. It's asinine

I'm at St Mary's part time but will go prn soon bc I can get the same tuition assistance and I'm part time at vcu. I work nights. I will be working at most 3 nights a week once clinical starts in august totaling 28 hrs a week. Between the 2 I currently work 36 a week obligated but I'm putting in more hours this summer to cut out my debt. I want to work my 28hrs a week in the fall and spring and pick up more in Summer. Anything to pay for school and be done

I have a lot of credits under my belt so I'm going to go straight for my BSN at Bon Secours and VCU. I missed the deadline this year for the fall programs so that's why I applied to sarge. I don't plan on applying to any programs like ECPI or Bryant and Stratton.

Awesome. Go for it. If u don't mind driving try John Tyler and Nova and Germannna. But wherever you go, do what's best for u and don't regret your decision. I landed the hard way.

I don't understand why I got a call but no email or letter that I was accepted

It's because they are disorganized. According to this forum, few people got calls, a few others got emails and the rest of us nothing. I'm sure your email and letter will be sent out with the rest once they figure out the total accepted applicants.
