Ivy Tech Spring 2015 hopefuls!

Hey everyone! So the deadline has officially passed... and now we wait! I haven't seen any dedicated threads for Spring semester yet, so I figured this would be a good way to support each other and provide updates so we can try to get through the month of September together. I hope we can maintain at least a little bit of our sanity until then!

So who else is waiting for the letter(s)?

VALPO/GARY APPLICANTS

I have a question for anyone that may know. I was told that Valpo campus applicants were no longer allowed to apply to the Gary campus, because those applicants were being placed in a "pool" and would be selected to the campus in their county. (So those that live in Porter county would go to Valpo, those that live in Lake county would attend Gary campus).

If this is the case, how would this work for those applicants whodo not live in either county? Seems a little unfair to limit where some applicants can apply, due to where they live, but not limit who else can apply and be aaccepted into the same program.

I was told no such thing .. I actually told by my counselor to apply to both campuses to increase my chances of being accepted into the program.. Whether or not something changed I do not know.. that's just what I was told

Got home from out of town and guess what was waiting for me in the mailbox?! That's right, MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER!!!!

I was told this would change as of August 26th, per my guidance counselor at the Valpo campus. I thought I'd ask if anyone else had heard this as well.

At least tomorrow should be the big day!!!

Fritts & everyone else applying in NWI: I went to the Valpo session before I officially moved to the state, and I think I remember hearing the same thing. To be honest, I didn't pay too much attention because I didn't think it applied to me. But I am pretty sure all of the Valpo/Gary students collectively apply to the Valpo campus, then they assign you to wherever is closer or based on special needs. Don't quote me, but that is what I remember!

No!!!! Nothing like waiting the whole time to mail out the letters. Linda said they may have just mailed today.

I think someone posted earlier either on this post or somewhere else it would be around Oct. 15 before Valpo/Gary letters are sent. They are usually the last sent out.

That'sfor the PN program. ASN should be sent out by today.
